Did anyone see this debauchery??? The new scenes they shot were horrible. And the score....geez. Badly done all around. Waste of effort on everyone's part that was involved in this. What exactly was the reason for it? Besides cash.

Let me 'splain. First of all, I fucked up, it's the 30th anniversary edition. Okay, Bill Hinzman and the gang got together and decided to film some new stuff and then "seamlessly" put it into the film we all know and love. Seamlessly my ass. The footage they filmed was awful and unnecessary. And they re-scored it with some shitty guy, who happens to star in this new footage. It's just an awful waste.

I actually own this shit. Horrible!!!!! Jumping from old to young Hinzman was a very bad idea. And the fools even had the audacity to cut out scenes of the original NOTLD to "quicken the pace." The action they filmed and cut into the movie, even if done well, would have still ruined the claustrophic atmosphere of being trapped in the house. I saw this thing and wanted to dole out a few ass-whuppin's!!!! Truly one of the worst ideas EVER!!!!!

Sadly, I own it too. Hinzman doesn't even look remotely the same anymore. It's so obvious when they cut from old Hinzman to "I've put on a few pounds" Hinzman.

Cheeba, I think the other threads about the 90's version are talking about the remake that Tom Savini directed. Which was actually good.

Not sure if this is the version your talking about but once on HBO (maybe it was starz or something else) I saw NOTLD was on so I thought I watch it again since I hadn't seen it in such a long time. I was so scared :), the beginning of the movie showed these people burying the first zombie and they spit on his grave and seem to be disgusted with him. Then he comes out of the grave and of course there you have it, the living dead.

~ Anyone else see this alternate opening?

I have NOTLD and I've watched it, of course. Then about a week after I saw it for the first time, it came on TV. And it had scenes the original version didn't have in it. Is that what you're talking about?

Btw, the remake was alright. But that was just bullshit the way they completely twisted the end of the movie.

If the movie had random footage that absolutely was not shot in the 1960's, it's the 30th anniversary edition. If in one minute the lead zombie is young and skinny and the next he's slightly overweight and old, it's the 30th anniversary edition.
