Bioshock is the last game i purchased, and i still havent beaten it. crashes and 2 complete system failures has impeded my progress

Haven't actually purchased any games in a while...work had pretty much hooked me up with enough ps3/ps2/ps1 stuff to keep me busy for a while, and more just keeps coming in...

Actual purchase? I think the last were the GTA "stories" titles, psp ports for ps2, and Stubbs the Zombie on pc, which I've yet to really get into.

Perfect Dark Zero isn't bad. The one weird thing about it though, and I didn't realize it until I started playing it with my dad and he pointed out, it's like playing one of those "ESurance" commercials. haha, And it's very much like that after he said it.

Christ, the subject matter could make a GREAT fps...this thing was just pure shit.

The 16mb systems had a Judge Dredd game that I LOVED though...it was a little difficult, but I really enjoyed it.

Haven't purchased anything recently, but work just handed out free copies of:
*GT5: Prologue - which I think is...a very nice looking simulator...
*Everybodys Golf not sure which number, but the one that's on ps3 , which seems kind've fun from what I've seen, I've always turned out a fan of the more cartoony golf games, 'unno why.
*God of War - Chains of Olympus, which I could've bought sooner, but knew I was getting for free, so...yeah, been looking forward to this one verrry much, glad to finally get my hands on it.

Yep, that'd be the one.

I bought it A) because it was cheap and B) because I'm vaguely familiar with Judge Dredd and figured they could make a cool FPS out of it...ugh, how wrong I was. It plays at times like a GTA knockoff, only you're stuck as the cop and if you do anything "fun" you get the shit shot out of you. The missions are generic and lame, the game engine is choppy at best, the graphics look like they're from a late 90's N64 game...just utter trash all around.

Quite atmospheric, but a little repetetive?
- I'd like to see a few more zombie games like this one, for the better part (aside from the aforementioned repetition, and a completely dissapointing final scene IMO) it was a pretty good game.

Oh yeah, work gave me something called "Patapon", the latest in the range of "interesting" games from Sony Japan. It's not quite locoroco, but it's a bit strange and unusual, the gf seems to be enjoying it. Play if you can remember patterns.

You should get

Dead Rising (should be fairly cheap now too)
The Orange Box (and AMAZING experience from HL2 to Portal)
Bioshock (of course)
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (seriously, it's fun)

and while there are many more I could suggest, without knowing what your kid's favorite games are I'd be grasping at straws.

well, i got :

Halo 3 (the special ed. with the helmet)

i'll get dead rising next for sure.

also - went to a garage sale and got a nice deal for 10$

4 Gameboy colour games (all pokemon)
4 N64 Games (2 still in boxes)
1 N64 comtroller
1 gameboy colour - working.

and some various cables.

2 of the N64 games were doubles so we traded them in for 8$ credit at EB games.

2 of the gameboy colour games are doubles and i'll get credit for them at another place (probably $5 each)

so i will have gotten all that other stuff for free along with about $8 :D

It's a fun game but it can be INFURIATING to the point of not wanting to play it anymore. If you make a mistake with the time thing then you may not have enough time to finish later missions and end up having to start over. Real pain in the ass sometimes.

Picked up a bargain bin Gamecube game called "Odama"....it's weird as hell and I'm not sure if I like it, but it's strange enough that I'm willing to keep playing.

Anyone here familar with it? It comes with a Microphone and shit, it's like pinball but you have an army and you need to give them orders. Like I said, it's bizarre.

I had hear about it but those mic games really seem to fall short. Like that one where you talk the girl through things to escape a place... wow, could I be more vague? Anyway, like I said, I usually skipped the mic games. Let me know what you think, I love my GC.

Picked up Wangan Midnight for the PS3 in Montreal over the weekend. I bought it bacause it was strange to see an import in the used game bin.

It's completely in Japanese except for some of the menu headings and the game itself is terrible. The graphics are beautiful but the physics suck and the game is slow and boring.

From what I had read, it was mainly 60 gig consoles that were affected, and since the patch came out I thought it was safe enough :)

Played it for about 3 or 4 hours, and so far it is awesome. Seems that the environment is so much more interactive than GTA:SA (which was the last of the series that I played). It really feels "alive".

I know, I know. I was just skeptical about it. The only reason I got it was because my girlfriend told me it was the best game ever, and I found it for about $15.

I almost picked up Prey and Quake 4 instead because of the price. I'm glad I didn't. :eek:

I'd say, anyone who likes Bioshock, should check out The Darkness. Very similar in play and art styles.

DO NOT under any circumstances purchase Quake 4. Its terrible. The graphics are way behind its time, the environments are repetitive and claustrophobic, weapons are boring, AI is stupid. Its almost identical to Doom 3, except way worse and minus the scares. go for Crackdown though. good fun.

I played a demo of it. It didn't seem that bad. But then again, I never played any of the DOOM series. I stopped playing games around the time DOOM 3 came out, and I never went back and picked it up. I watched my EX play it...Though it didn't really look all that interesting for some reason.

lol. The boyfriend LOVES the Turok games. He played it for the original Xbox and he simply HAD to get it for the 360... I haven't played it myself, though.

And, as you predicted, I DO find Condemned to be pretty horrifying, though the graphics are absolutely gorgeous and I like the way the controls handle.

Now if only I could grow some balls.

I have Dead Rising. The only thing that really gets under my skin with it, is the fact that you can't stop and save half way through. You have to either play it all at once, or start from the beginning every time you want to play it. Not bad otherwise though....I forgot to mention the constant load screens.

I've been playing the Tomb Raider game most of the afternoon. Mostly because it had the most scratches, and I wanted to make sure it works. I've almost finished it. I'll probably be done with it tomorrow.

Oddly enough, while playing it, it makes me think of how many similarities there are between it, Assassin's Creed and Prince Of Persia. It's all almost exactly the same.

yep its a pretty short game. I beat it for PSP. Try Crackdown next.

I played Crackdown for about 2 hours yesterday. That game is pretty wild. I'm going to plug it in today, after I finish up Tomb Raider.

What do you think of Condemned 2? I think it's a bit cleaner than the first one and that it's a fantastic little game. LOVED the CSI element to it.

And what do you think of Assassin's Creed? Can't seem to really get into that one.

Condemned 2 is alright. I honestly liked the first one better. Not quite as "paranormal", with all the demons and what not. Not to mention the one freak baddie. The first one was much scarier. Especially since you couldn't use your fists.

Assassin's Creed is a great game. Though after a bit of playing, it becomes very repetitive. Still something I really enjoy though. I'm a lot into the free roam of things.

I don't mind the repetitive nature of the game (I kind of expected it) but I can't stand all the blabbering in the game. Just let me kill people!

Bought TNA Impact yesterday and snapped the disc in half today.This is the worst game in the history of games.It's almost impossible to beat an oppenent.They reverse everything and you cant reverse a thing.Plus after working to build up your finisher you perform it and the guy pops right back up punches you once you fall down and then he pins you with out any effort.Stay away from this game at all cost.Dont buy it,dont rent it,dont even borrow it for free.TNA has just lost a big fan becasue of this game.I'm gonna mail the broken pices back to the company with a big fat turd in and a bill for all the stuff that got broken because of this garbage game.I'd rather cut off my manhood than to ever play this again.

The reason I broke the disc is that hopefully I can spare some poor soul the agony of having to play it.I wouldn't wish the game on anyone,not even a terrorist.Even they dont deserve that kind of punishment.

I find that very odd. Seriously.

I've played it for about 5 hours now and i think the gameplay is just great.

You can do just about everything that you get to do in GTA5. You just get to do it all MUCH sooner.

The only downside is the actors and their lines. Especially the dialogue is quite cliche and bad.

I thought that Prey was a blast (well, IS a blast - Haven't beaten it yet, but I'm getting a little tired of it).

Very soon, it will be "Saints Row 2" which is basically a GTA knock off with better customisation of your player characters and less... sanity. And also Chainsaws. And alo Ninja costumes. Did I mention less sanity? How about if I mention a sub game where you are playing as a pretend Police officer for a Reality TV show and killing protestors with a Chainsaw?

To tag it with some horror relevance, it actually has a Zombie Survival mode. What more could you want? Nothing.

Oh and while I was there picking up said "Saints Row 2"' I grabbed that their Prey for a song.

GREAT game if you can get over the age of the thing. I'm a gameplay over graphics guy so I can play PS1, NES, hell even Coleco games without batting an eye if they're good.

Kewl... Reading the manual right now. The actual story behind it (post apocalyptic America stuck in the 50s) speaks to me so much that I'm ridiculously stoked here. :D

I got Dragon Quest: Swords for the Wii.

I didn't really want to get it... I mean it was not my first choice.

I was trading a game that I wasn't happy with for a different one (so glad Electronics Boutique lets you do that ♥) and wanted Metroid Prime: Corruption but they only had pre-owned copies. I looked around for half an hour and couldn't find anything on any platform that I wanted so ended up with this.

It's pretty fun, but I'm seriously considering taking it in with a bunch of other games I never play and trading them for store credit.
