Yes, that Scorsese is involved is just over the top.

But scorsese or no scorsese, this book just screams for a movie adaption. Especially because of the ending twist that makes u go WHAT THE FUUUU..??!!!

Read it. ;)

About that, yeah....:D

Actually from what I am reading here, this looks like one I will really enjoy. I don't think I have ever read anything by Lehane before.

I've read almost everything by him that is available in danish. (that makes 3 books.). Still haven't got my hands on "Gone baby, gone" tho.

I've read "mystic river" (feels very long, but the last 100 pages are riveting), "Prayers for rain" (quite good all the way through, but more of a normal crime novel). And then there's my absolute favorite "shutter island" (Really, really entertaining and suspenseful, cool colorful characters, an exciting story and a far out ending that'll make your jaw drop to your knees).

I know my mom read Mystic River, loved it and recommended it to me awhile ago. I just never picked it up.

Well, looking forward to it. Should be picking it up tomorrow. But the last time their online catalog claimed they had something, it wasn't there..... If its a lie and they don't have it, I will just order it.

I cross my fingers for tomorrow then.

READ THE DAMN BOOK!!!

Finished it, and I am now sharing your excitement. Excellent read, great ending. Could be a fantastic film, especially considering Scorsese's involvement.

Thanks for recommending I read it....or....demanding that I and everyone else here read it......;)

I don't have a boss.....but I do have a husband...oh and the friends that insist on speaking to me sometimes....and my family, they like to talk to me a lot. I have no idea why, really. It seems like every time I sit down to read, the freakin' phone rings. Terrible invention that...;) Of course, they never call and interrupt when I am cleaning. *sighs*

Sure, okay....

Neither actually, he's not stupid enough to be doing the latter. ;) But yes, he is at work, he works second shift, so he won't be home for a couple of hours. He's moving to day shift soon, though, so don't worry, pretty soon I won't be around as much.
