She usually paints plates and cups and other "practical" items, but this was art for art's sake (something she never does) and it made me really happy. She also gave me a cookbook she put together with all the old family recipes in it...made me cry a little

I'd love to see it. What was really neat is that it's signed by the author and she wrote a note to my boyfriend in the shipment to thank him for the purchase... This will definitely appreciate in value.
