So, I got back from Greece last night---I had a wonderful vacation. However, at the latter end of the stay, my wife and I had a rather adventurous encounter! It should be rather entertaining for you all!
We were staying at the Porto Elounda De Luxe Resort in Crete, Greece. It was our last night at the resort and we had everything packed. Since we had to wake up at 5:30AM in the morning, we went to bed early.
Then it began to rain, and then it began to rain harder.
The next thing I know, I am waking up to my wife shouting "Oh no! Oh no!" and I respond with "What?" but she cannot explain herself because she is too shaken up.
I walk over to where she has the room door open to see water pouring down the halls!
Quickly after that, the water starts getting deeper and extending further into our room. We then made the very easy decision that we had to get out of there. Thankfully, all of our stuff was packed already, so we just grabbed up our luggage and booked it (other people in the rooms to our sides were not so fortunate).
By the time we left the room, the lights were out in the halls, water was ankle deep and falling everywhere from the ceiling, and a strange, lone Greek man was there with a flash light to lead us out.
It was all a little bit terrifying, but very exciting!
