I liked it but thought it was too much of a tease--if you're going to put someone as hot as Jessica Alba in your movie and then parade her around in a pair of panties, then you MUST at least show her bare ass!!!! If she won't do it, fire her and hire someone who will. We're making Idle Hands, for God's sake, not The Seven Samurai (which could have also been improved with a bare ass, as long as it wasn't Mifune's). Had the same problem with Gator Bait--I've seen Claudia Jennings naked in other movies a million times, but if you're going to parade her around almost popping out of that outfit for 90 minutes, then you're obligated to show the goods. Stuart Gordon knows, and everyone else needs to learn it!!!!

By the way--has anyone actually seen Jessica Alba nude in something? I generally can't watch the crap she stars in, but will fastforward for boobs.

well in answer to the original question, i thought it was boring and crap. didnt really care about the characters, the humour was ok (his friends coming back from the dead and still being laid back, and the hand burning in the microwave) but not enough to save the movie IMO.

I thought Idol Hands was a decent effort and it made me laugh in some parts. Especially the hardcore guy listening to Motley Crue's Shout at the Devil. I found it in the 5 dollar bin and that's about as much as I would pay for it.

Dr.Kelvinstein
01-15-2004, 08:33 AM
I didn't say horror had to equal porn. I'm a big fan of Universal and Hammer stuff, and I PROMISE I have seen lots more "classy" films than you have. What I said was grade Z crap like Idle Hands SHOULD be sleazy. They ain't called exploitaion for nothing. Watching stuff like I Spit and Pit and the Pendelum is entirely different from watching porn (though personally I don't see anything wrong with watching porn). And I don't need a 'ho (thanks for the lesson in ebonics, by the way), I have a girlfriend.

I love this movie, this is the first horror movie my nephew saw (he is 5 now) one of his favorites too. Anywayz I thought this movie would suck , but after I saw it I was really surprised. I thought it was a teen comedy or something. It is fucking bloody and I love it.

yeh thats a bitch, i was going to go to boston market with my family one night for dinner, but the place was closed down...the amount of junk food we have here is pretty limited aswell....i hate it when good restaurants close down and a Mcdonalds or a lame fish and chips/chicken store comes up in its place

Haha.

Back in 93 there was an E. coli outbreak at Jack in the Box and a bunch of kids who ate there died.

Sam The Egg
01-17-2004, 07:11 AM
oh? 93? So recent...I doubt they've had time to fix things since then. Hoo boy, must've been a nation-wide thing, too. Thanks for the warning, I'll just be going back to the runny meat patties of McDonalds, then...

Actually, it was Pacific Northwest wide, since that's about where all the Jack in the Boxes were at the time. Their beef was carrying E. coli, not just one Jack in the Box's beef, all their beef. Not only did a bunch of kids die, but hundreds of people were hospitalized. Keep on eating there Sam. You won't find me in no goddamn Jack in the Box...regardless if they've had time to fix the problem.

Sam The Egg
01-17-2004, 08:58 AM
so you're going to avoid a nation-wide chain just because the ones in one region of the US had diseased meat 11 years ago? That's like avoiding anything with red dye because of the Red Dye #2 thing a while ago.

First of all, I wouldn't call Jack in the Box a nation-wide chain. They're only located in 16 states. It's not like they're Burger King or anything. And yes, I will never eat at a Jack in the Box. I'm amazed they are still around after that incident. Must've had a hell of a PR person.

Sam The Egg
01-17-2004, 09:41 AM
or maybe they fixed the problem, and the FDA or whoever realized that they had fixed the problem. Or maybe it wasn't even their fault. Did it ever say HOW the meat got infected?

avenger00soul
01-17-2004, 10:17 AM
Why are we arguing about this again? Do you work at Jack in the Box?

Yes, they fixed the problem b/c they were forced to use a “farm to fork” system that overlooks all processes of their incoming meats. Then again, they were suspected in the nation’s first mad cow disease case. That was just a few months ago btw. I’m not going to eat there, quit trying to make me.

Sam The Egg
01-17-2004, 10:46 AM
I'm not trying to make you, I don't give a shit where you eat. If you had said "I don't like Jack N The Box, I won't eat there" I would've let it go. But basing it on something that happened in part of the country 11 years ago is stupid. And they were suspected in the Mad Cow thing. Big deal. Did they say "It's Jack N the Box's fault!"? Did they link them to it?

avenger00soul
01-17-2004, 11:00 AM
For the last time, Jack in the Box is only in PART of the country. It didn't just happen at one Jack in the Box.

Ok, let's say you come across a convicted child murderer, but he's been a good boy for 11 years. Would you trust him to babysit your kids? I don't trust Jack in the Box enough to ever eat there, regardless of how much time has past. The Mad Cow suspicion confirms that I will never again eat there. And, yes, that fact that their food sucks will keep me out of their restaurants too.

No matter what remark you come back with, it's not changing my mind. You think the reasons are stupid, I don't. Likewise, I'm not convincing you. Neither of us are going to change their mind on this one.

Please, that's completely different. Did JNTB intentionally put the stuff in their meat? No. But the child murderer intentionally killed the kid(s). Okay, it's not in the whole country, but I didn't say it happened in one. I said it happened in PART OF THE COUNTRY! Pacific Northwest is what you said if I remember correctly. There's plenty of JNTB's here, and I'm not in the Pacific Northwest.

Fair enough. Don't know how it got in the meat. But seeing as how they were forced to use the "farm to fork" procedures afterward, it had to their fault and it had to happen somewhere between the farm and the restaurant. They probably don't even know.

Like I said, their beef went out to all their locations and we no longer have Jack in the Boxes in Kentucky for, what I can only guess is, that reason.
