Well, after my recent "Rhyme Off" with marley's ghost, I thought of this. The idea is just that we write a poem or post one of our favourites. Here's one I wrote.

Creature of the Moon

I sit alone in my cold hut,
waiting for daylight to come,
the inner monster inside me yearns for blood,
raging and banging my head like a drum,

The dark blue sky fades to pink,
and I feel my control return,
But as I look around myself,
My heart begins to burn,

An old man, of about 60 years old,
with gaping hole in his chest,
a pool of blood fills it up,
and stains his torn up vest

Nothing else, but it was enough,
Something must be done,
I grab my coat and put on my boots,
then I begin to run,

I run for miles, I do not tire,
not since that fateful day,
I remember it well, but try to forget,
But in mind it will always lay,

The town appears and I press on,
I know exactly where to go,
To the old man with the cat in the Graveyard cottage,
I just hope he doesn't say no,

I bang on the door,
"Open Up" I shout and I hear a noise inside,
The door opens and the old man nods,
He looks like he's already died,

"You have the curse, that is clear,"
he says in a rasping voice,
"But what do you want?" he asks me now,
"Because there is only one choice."

"I think I know, but I'm not too sure"
I'm almost too scared to listen,
He draws an object from his pocket,
it has an amazing glisten,

"This bullet will cure you that is certain,
but it has a terrible price."
"I'm willing to die" I answer him,
"I've already killed twice"

He gives me the bullet and off I go,
to fulfill my terrible fate,
I arrive back at my forest hut,
But I fear I am too late,

I've had too much time to think about it all,
and do not wish to die,
I know I can fight it, yes I can!
To say I couldn't would be a lie,

So I throw away the bullet and lay down,
Twenty days will be over soon,
then my other side will re-appear,
the creature of the moon.

My brother wrote an awesome poem that I always read on my radio show.

Here it is

Farewell

Peace is unacceptable
Harmony is ceased.
Love is uncontrollable
Life is just a beast.
Time should only tick away
And time has done us well.
But if time shudders our existence
Then Goodbye, so long, farewell.

Death

I'm a stranger to the dark,
unknown to the light,
I never touch the ground,
I never take flight,
I'm invisible to everyone,
but I am always seen,
people fear my very name,
but harm I do not mean.

Life

I am a gift,
a wonderful joy,
I am the smile in a baby,
whilst he holds his favourite toy,
But I am lost, everyday,
On purpose and by chance,
I am the music everywhere,
I am your favourite dance

Why is it getting out of hand? It's a poetry thread.

Why?

I sat my child on my knee,
and a question he asked me,
Several questions as a matter of fact,
And I admit, I was taken aback,

"Why do people suffer Dad?
Why are people always sad?
Why is dying everywhere?
Why isn't life ever fair?"

He looked at me with open eyes,
And I told the truth, I never lied,
And as I answer he looked at me,
And understandinghe could see,

"Suffering is only seen, when compared to Goodness,
Sadness can only happen, if there's also happiness,
Death is just a part of life, where the sad ones become free,
and life is fair I know it is, or you wouldn't be here with me."
