the dark castle books

i love almost all of the kings books but i just got the second book and havnt read it yet but i wanted to know if i can start reading or will i not understand it from here. i also wanted to know if these books are as good as the kings other books.

No, start from the beginning. The first Dark Tower has been my favorite so far. They are also some of the best King books that I have read.
