Just watched this the other day. I really like the atmosphere, but I feel that the Vampire's were poorly done.

Thoughts?

That was on TCM the other night.

I caught part of it.

I agree. The vampires could have better done. Looked more like zombies!

Great movie for sure, one of my all time favourites as for the "Vampires" I actually think there a hybrid of both Vampires & Zombies mixed together to create a new kind of "Ghoul"

I actually like "Last Man" far more then the two remakes "The Omega Man" and "I Am Legend"

I felt that the vampires are fine, they looked like pale people, which is more or less what they were suppose to look like. True they probably could moved a bit different, but I felt it was appropriate for what they were trying to do. I personally feel Vincent Price's performance out shined Will Smith completely

I find the atmosphere in this film intriguing, a different approach to vampires but nothing that i find ruining the movie.

I am with you on that. This film is SO Bleak and unearthly. I don't see it often on peoples "best" lists; and it deserves to be.
For good fun read the Richard Matheson short story from which it originated:
I am Legend (the Alpha and Omega).
