Hey horror fiends!

i'm taking a class on american horror films and have to pick a book to do a report on. when i googled horror this came up and i thought why should i look around for a book about horror films when all the experts are here.

so - if u were going to read a book about horror films what would it be?? hopefully its interesting and doesn't suck (oh, and probably isn't too long)

Welcome and stick around - this is a great place to learn about horror.

King's Danse Macabre is pretty good

as is Adam Rockoff's Going to Pieces:The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film
http://books.google.com/books?id=W7-Am3TnbbYC&dq=&pg=PP1&ots=5kcyzCY1yM&sig=wwLbE76Qe-LwN8DPRuMjt573o6o&prev=http://www.google.com/search%3Fhl%3Den%26q%3Dgoing%2Bto%2Bpieces%2Bthe%2 Brise%2Band%2Bfall%2Bof%2Bthe%2Bslasher%2Bbook%26b tnG%3DSearch&sa=X&oi=print&ct=title

This one looks promising as well, I've been meaning to pick it up, but I've bought too many books as of late.

there's some here

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_b/026-1007279-5888428?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=american+horror+film&Go.x=9&Go.y=9

Although this is the british version, I'm sure the American one will do it as well

Clive Barker's A-Z of Horror if you actually need a book about horror films.

If you just need books with Horror themes, then check out The Rising or The Zombie Survival Guide.
