Yes. That is who it is.

He played the role of Mother Muffin on The Girl From UNCLE series.

He surprised everyone by taking on this role! Very unusual for him!

Even with arthritis and respiratory problems the old trooper kept right on going up until the end.

He was a great actor and one of the cornerstones of the horror genre!

Marya, Luv ur threads...You remind me of Maud Frickie, a character the late Charlie Weaver did in drag years ago, Do you remember him?I agree Boris Karloff was excellent in the horror genre movies...I'm into the classics mostly..Just recently saw an episode of the Girl From Uncle with him in it...as Mother Muffin...Was that a recuring role?

Maudie Frickert was Jonathan Winters! But I do remember Charlie Weaver.

I am basically a classic horror movie lover, especially Universal & Hammer.

Regarding Mother Muffin, that role was done about a year and a half before his death. He suffered severly with arthritus and respiratory problems.

This role surprised everyone and it was the center of the TV season discussion.

For one of my costumes, I dress in drag as an elderly lady. Since I had pictures I thought I would create a character from it.

:) I goofed up...Your right Johnathan Winters was Maudie frickert and Cliff Arquette was Charlie weaver, Oh well I was just a wee tike at the time....Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were great together...as Dracula and Van Helsing.. The Italian Horrors are favorites of mine also...Enjoy the atmospheric..You know fog, shadows, how lighting is used...etc. Wish my local video store carried some decent flicks...but they don't...Mostly , slashers with too much gore...a good movie doesn't need it...am I right or am I right?..I'm on my soap box again......lol!

I love the fog, gothic settings, lighting - what great atmosphere!

I too am a great fan of Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing.

I don't worry about the video stores! I buy my films direct from Movies Unlimited and Critic Chioce Video who has just about everything you wanted but were afraid to ask about!

Val Lewton films also are really atmospheric & chilling!
