... does anyone here go into chatrooms when they are bored or have nothing else to do ?
I'm currently not working and spend my nights alone since the boyfriend works nights. So to kill time at night (since I can't sleep), I'm either watching movies, here or chatting on some random chat room I found. The boyfriend has no problem with it, but it seems my motives are always questioned. People always seem to think I'm "looking", or trying to get from someone else what they think I don't get from my guy.
So what do you think ? Should people in relationships not surf chat rooms and such or are the french just really narrow-minded idiots (concerning this topic... not generally... in which case we all know the answer. just kidding.) ?
I see nothing wrong with "chat rooms" [ hell this place is like a chat room most of the time ]

There's nothing wrong with going to into chat rooms and meeting random people.Just cause your in a chat room doesn't mean your looking to get some.Of course you can't go into any chat room without there being 400 perverts in there.

My intentions are always made clear, doesn't stop the assholes though. Thankfully, there's a blocking option.

Personally, there have been times when I just felt like talking to someone, Dustin works a lot, and sleeps quite a bit, too, and sometimes the forum is kinda dead...So, I have checked out a few chatrooms but I have NEVER found one that was NOT lame as hell...So, that only lasted for a few minutes
If you REALLY wanna place to just hang out, play games, goof off, and talk to random people... Gaiaonline.com will give you some things to do...Seri told me about it, and while I don't have much time for it, when the baby is asleep, and I have some time to myself, it's just nice to unwind there...I've been on it for about 2 weeks...I'd stay out of their forums, though...They're freaking HORRIBLE...The cinema there is pretty neat (get free popcorn and tomatoes and throw them at the screen...haha)...They're playing Night Of The Living Dead and House On Haunted Hill right now
OH...And the other thing isn't an issue for us...Dustin knows I don't need anything 'new' ;)

I used to talk in chatrooms a bunch but ended up diggin on forums a lot more (well this one and a punk one from over here).

Exactly. It's just more about talking to someone... but yeah, it is rare to find anyone remotely interesting.

If you can find one that has a focus you're interested in, you can pass the time well enough. I frequently hang out in a chat room that's for internet broadcasters. Most of the people know each other quite well and people pretty much get along. A good group of "regulars" is essential.
What few jerks that do show up people ignore. They get bored and movew on.
That all said- nearly every chat room IS lame. You gotta find a good one.
