Time to help my training process.
I trained on the PS3 about a week back, and a lot of it still has me a little stumped in all honesty.
So, I'm looking to hear some F.A.Q's, some problems...etc?
I cannot answer them at this point (well, some maybe), I'm essentially doing this to better familiarise myself with the kind've questions/how to?'s and issues that are likely to occur.
So, if you could help out and keep it realistic and serious...eg...no "it doesn't work underwater" type stuff, that'd be great.
Thanks in advance for any asisstance.

You supply me with a PS3 and I'll supply you with dozens of questions. Deal?

I wish I could help, but I've only been told bad things about the PS3, so I'm gonna pass it up...The one thing that I've heard most is that PS2 is better...I've heard a lot of complaints about the lack of available games for the system, and a whole lot of glitches overall

I dont know why the PS3 has received so much flak around here. I got one as a gift last Christmas from my folks and its the most kickass gaming console I ve ever laid my hands on.

My PS3 is a 60GB one. They got it because the shop-owner told em that the 60GB version handled backward compatibility with the PS2 and the PSX much better, while the 80GB one had built-in emulators for playing PS2 and PSX games...which could be a problem with some games (emulators cant play all games anyway).

I have played Motorstorm with it and the graphics and sound are impressive as heck. Since then I have got NFS: Carbon and Call of Duty 3 for it, and I was more than impressed with both of em. CoD 3's stunning visuals and technically enhanced sound will blow the brains off anyone sitting in front of the screen!

It came with a 2GB Memory Card which is more than sufficient to save game progress. I have watched some Blu-Ray titles on it and it plays them pretty smoothly. I noticed Blu-Ray disks are not much different than digitally encoded DVDs, although I m told that the difference is more apparent if you have a high resolution digital TV. Maybe our 29" isnt technically good enough to discern quality between a Blu-Ray and a DVD.

Its a kickass console, and it beats the pants off the XBox 360 and the Nintendo Wii! Too bad that the negative rumors circulating around have affected the sales of this machine...else it can be compared to a shiny, new superfast Ferrari among all the Chevys out there.

No probs yet, Cheebs. I ll be sure to drop you a PM if I come across any trouble or glitches. But into the 10th month of having the PS3, and I am totally satisfied with the Sony console par excellence.:)

But, then again...I prefer a Chevy over a Ferrari :p

I'll ask my brother, he has a PS3. I'll get one eventually but right now there's no games for it that I want to play. Right now the only games I see worth playing are also on the 360 and run at a better framerate.

Is it the 60GB one or the 80GB one?

If its the 80GB one, I m sure he might have problems playing PS2 and PS disks.

Not sure, I think it's the 80 but he's had no problems with PS2 games. In fact, the only problems I have heard stem from newer PS3 systems where the emotion engine has been removed to cut costs. The new 80 GB models in the US do NOT use the emotion engine and rely on software emulation while the original models (he got his the first day) still had the EE in it.

You need a High Definition display to display high definition picture, so yeah you won't notice a difference because there won't be a difference other than maybe better color and sound.

I have a ps3, I use it solely for watching movies which is a shame because I wanted it to be for games aswell. I wish I had bought a 360

a) I think I prefer HD DVD, some bluray movies I have don't look as crisp as they ashould

B) way more games, better games. the only games that the ps3 have are ported (i.e crappier looking) versions of xbox 360 games. I was happy when ps3 got virtua fighter 5 exclusive, but now it'as coming out with the 360 with better graphics and online?

c) it's future doesn't look very bright to me, it's capable of better graphics than the xbox 360 but I don't see the system getting far enough to even see 80% of the systems capability.

Oh well atleast some really good games are coming out soon, Call of Duty 4, Guitar Hero III, assassins creed, stranglehold. All these games are coming out for the xbox 360 at about the same time though aswell...

I can't be too upset with the ps3, I've never had any kind of problems with it or anything but I think if I might go down to walmart when the price goes to 350$, get the hd dvd addon on ebay, trade my bluray discs and sell the ps3.
