I am a huge fan of Jim Cameron's Aliens. I own the special edition of the film...you know....the one that Cameron says is the version HE wanted fans to originally see but the studios thought was too long (2 hours 34 minutes).
Well, I have seen this movie probably a hundred times. The last time I watched it, something hit me. The scene where Burke tries to impregnate Ripley and Newt and is thwarted in his plan, and later runs off only to be attacked by an alien. It suddenly hit me....it would have ROCKED had the aliens cocooned him and Ripley found his sorry ass while searching for Newt.
Then it hit me that this idea is so good, it actually makes sense that Cameron originally had planned that. A quick Google search and my assumption was confirmed. Cameron shot such a scene with Burke cocooned and Ripley finding him. Burke says some shit like , "Ripley... help me. I can feel it... inside. Oh, God... it's moving! Oh God." Ripley replies, "Here," and hands him a grenade. Then she moves on after wrapping his fingers around the spoon and pulling the primer.
This scene isn't in any released version of the film as Cameron wasn't happy with the quality of the scene. It's a controversial scene since many people believe a Facehugger would have still been on him due to the time it takes for Embryo implantation.
Does anybody know where I could find a clip of this scene? All I have been able to find are lame still photos.
