Looks like the winner is Dead Alive, followed by The Evil Dead and Cannibal Holocaust who are tied. (Other doesnt count because its spread through different movies)

Wouldn't "goriest" be more fact than opinion?

I think our own list of gore films is far better...

I thought Cannibal Holocaust sucked ass. I bought it and I've only watched it once.

i would say minute for minute and bloood for blood the most over the top in gore would be;

Le Bagman - 21 minute short with 20 minutes of straight gore.
FOrklift drive Klaus;first day on the job.

but these are not movies only shorts. plus alot of people that voted havent seeen much variety only more mainstream gore flicks, theres mothing wrong with that but only a limitedf amoutn of accuracy on the results. this topic needs to go on a bucnh of hardcore sites and imdb, bloody disgusting to get a realall good responce.

The Evil Dead wasn't nearly as gorey as Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferox.

I think the Evil Dead is an highly over-rated piece of garbage in my opinion.

The only thing it has is a sizeable fanbase (I don't understand why though), nothing else.

I'm beginning to think that 'gore' is a matter of perception rather than an actual set concept...

I didn't think Cannibal Holocaust was gory at all...Just some animal guts a couple of times, looked more like 'dinner' than 'gore'...Almost no blood at all...I don't get the fascination with THAT

At least Evil Dead had some oozy stuff

Wouldn't "goriest" be more fact than opinion?

Kinda......
It would be very hard to realistically measure movies by a set "gore meter". Unless they took production notes and compared the number of gallons of fake blood used in the movie. But even that would be off cause someone could win for one or two scenes of something spewing masses amounts of blood or rivers of fake blood.
Also gore could be an opinion as well unless you followed strictly the dictionaries definition (1. blood that is shed, esp. when clotted.
2. murder, bloodshed, violence, etc.:).

But anyway, the lists were pretty damn crappy.

i think if you look closely at the list you'll see some movies on there that only a horror buff would know of. actually, quite a lot of the movies i personally hadn't heard of prior to joining HDC. i think its a good effort but a little bit off the money but lets face we're horror snobs on here so it was never gonna get our seal of approval.
