It might've been some sort of mini-series like Creep Show, but all I remember is these kids wanted this pumpkin helmet that basically covered their entire head, and they would wear it when the channel/program would come on, and something would blink (late 70s to mid 80s possibly)... does anyone know the name?
EDIT: obvious, but... the setting was during the season of halloween.

Sounds to me like Paws got it - has to be Halloween III.

It is Halloween 3. The silver shamrock commercial made a microchip in the back of the mask explode.

Ah, I just found its my settings only displaying a certain amount of topics (by last month etc). No wonder why I can only see like 4 or 5 topics in some forums >_<
It doesnt matter though, no ones going to use it. They simply post new topic after topic asking what film it is they cant remember, rather than searching for a topic devoted to that.

main issue would be when there are multiple questions, how would you know which question was being answered.

Yeah, but there arent multiple questions being asked each day, its more of a week or monthly accurance so each film would probably be figured out before a new one was asked.
Anyway, my bad with the stupid one month filter I had on forums >_<
