You may or may not know about the "shady world" of Bittorrents if you do then i apologize now

If not then its this:
The BitTorrent client enables a user to search for and download torrent files, the main window including a Search box, (aka Search for torrents), that allows a search term to be entered and which then opens the user's default web browser at the BitTorrent torrents search engine page with the results of the search.

The current client enables a range of features including multiple parallel downloads. It also intermediates peering between itself, source file servers ("trackers") and other clients, thereby yielding great distribution efficiencies. The client also enables users to create and share torrent files.

Basicaly you could download pretty much anything. Films/Games/Software/Porn etc.

Bittorrents client are:
Bitlord
Bitcomet
Azureus
µTorrent etc.

Sites are here:
http://netforbeginners.about.com/od/peersharing/a/torrent_search.htm

REMEMBER:
ALWAYS HAVE UP TO DATE FIREWALL/ANTIVIRUS/SPYWARE Normally its safe but you can never be to carefull. It just takes a little bit of SAVVY.

The site i use are Torrentspy because its easy to see feedback on what you want.
Piratebay same as above.
And Mininova sometimes it has a little bit more than Torrentspy.

And i use Bitlord 1.1 as its very easy to use.

But like i said it is not strictly legal so use caution.
(Ive been using it for years)

Happy Downloading.

It's similar. I liked the original bearshare and limewire better though.

Bittorrent exists (to me) as a way to get old Iron Chef episodes because A) I dont have cable, and B) if i did, i Might be able to see them at 4 in the morning.

It is slow, monotonous, and I dont understand the hype because it seems to take days or weeks to get small files.

Plus, having seen cam copies of movies, i would rather shell out the $8 to sit in a thater than wonder what the fuck happened while the guy with the camera had his fingers over the lens, or the scene was dark, or really light, or what happened while the kids were talking in the next row, etc etc.

I use Limewire, and download music (usually from albums/tapes CDs I already own but want to burn onto a mix CD). I'll sometimes download a new song I've heard and if I like it, I'll go buy the CD. I'll also download a movie if it sounds interesting, and if I like it, then I'll go check it out in the theater/buy it on DVD.

If bittorrents are ever banned, I'll stop using them without fuss and go about my merry way. Until then, though...have at thee.:D

However, I am looking for something less heavy on the malware than Limewire (I have spyware doctor, which is aces, and I've yet to encounter a malware it couldn't remove, but still...)

What's this "Ares" thing I saw mentioned?

Azureus: Tv shows
Soulseek: Music
DC++: Comics

All those apps have me covered.
I don't usually foray into movies...dangerous territory by comparison.

I only get the ones that I am unable to find anywhere or were unreleased, such as Halloween 6: Producer's Cut. I was unable to find a copy of Halloween 6 anywhere that is close to me, and I am unable to order online. So in turn, this was my only out.
