I saw a picture of the new look for the Joker from the new batman movie. From the looks of it, it's quite a break from tradition. Does that mean the new movie may (heaven forbid) come with an "R" rating?

Heath Ledger was given Alan Moore's the Killing Joke for research. If the Joker behaves anything like the Joker does in the Killing Joke, it could get an R. But, I wouldn't hold my breath for a hardcore Alan Moore or Frank Miller style Batman.

not a chance in HELL! Its all about money. PG-13 = BIG MONEY BIG MONEY. R=less.

Hell give me a strict adaptation of Dark Knight Returns with an NC-17 and I'd be one happy monkey, but it will never happen (except on youtube and then it would suck because all the characters would have acne and carry inhalers).

it looks..okay. I know he's meant to be dark and grimy but, the whole thing about the joker was he was evil in a crazy/peppy way. He's meant to look clown like, not "little boy who just found his mums make up kit"like.

I assume that this movie follows "Batman Begins?"
