I used search and couldn't find the topic, so I'm posting a new one, a bunch of people have gone and rated this movie a 10 on IMDB when it hasn't been released yet. Now the Average is 9.6 and it's listed as the #1 Horror and Comedy film on IMDB.
At least I thought it was funny.
Anybody know when the movie will be released?

It premiered at a couple of Film Festivals last year, and generated good responses. Was supposed to release in Oct 2007 but for some reason hasnt been released yet.
It was supposed to be relaunched at the East Lansing Film Festival on 13th March (a week back) with complete DTS 5.1 sorround sound. Thats the latest so far as I know.
The trailer's up here :- http://www.movieweb.com/video/V07LahruvCDLQX
It might go direct-to-DVD or see a limited theater release soon, given the response at East Lansing.

Nah, its just way too much bruce to fit on a theater screen. Remember guys that chin is huge allready, if they tried to put it on the big screen it would be so big NASA would have to fly to mars to see the cleft.

It doesn't come out on DVD till Feb next year... I looked hard for it, but it only came out in theatrical release when he toured with it... No cams available... and you should at least rent it from netflix if you get a chance. It's Bruce Campbell not deustch-boy from Twilight. He deserves support-

Anyone else had the pleasure of checking this out yet? It was a fun movie. If you're a Campbell fan, you'll love it. If you're out of the loop, you'll probably be thinking "What the hell did I just watch"? It's pretty much directly for campbell fans.
Check out my review for more of my thoughts on the film.

Just watched this yesterday.
Jeebus - I was shocked how bad this was. Totally unfunny. Bruce Campbell isn't bad in it but his one liners aren't enough to carry a whole film. All the other characters were annoying and the monster was piss poor...

I was pretty disapointed in this as well, It got really hyped on here, maybe that got my expectations up to high. But yeah, considering the idea behind it and baseing it on himself you would have expected him to make more of an effort.

it was pretty weak .. he deserves better writers and a bigger budget.
the 'monster' was lame as hell.

I found it hilarious fan service with a clear sense of what it wanted to be. The in jokes, the quotes, and the props all screamed of a film made for real fans of his characters. Maybe the big screen made it better but I had a blast. I was expecting a cheesy B-Movie and that's what I got, I suppose if that's what I wasn't prepared for I'd have been disappointed.
Went into it not expecting much, so I wasn't dissapointed. Bruce did a decent job and I liked how he was portraing himself. That being said, the writers must have been hired for a few bucks. The monster wasn't impressive, though he was amusing. Would have liked to see the monster do something other than decapitate everyone he saw.

I too found My Name Is Bruce to be pretty funny. I wasn't expecting more than a B grade movie dishing out love to the Campbell fans so I was happy with what I got. Although I do agree that he should be in better horror films, perhaps as a starring role instead of the guy who gets killed quickly.

I think my favorite part didn't even have dialogue. I laughed my ass off when he was running from the monster and shooting back at but only hitting people from the town.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. I had no expectations and expected it to be pretty tongue-in-cheek.
There were definitely a lot of "Bruce acting like Bruce" moments in the movie, which I enjoyed.
I also enjoyed that he was kind of an asshole, since everything I have ever heard about him was that he was kind of a dick to fans at conventions, haha.
(dunno if that is true, but that is the perception that I have of him)

I just finished watching this this morning and I couldn't agree more! I felt like it was a nod to all his fans and just had all these Bruce moments. I also found it hilarious!
Spoiler:
I was a little disappointed with the "breaking the 4th wall ending" just because i hate when they do that. I also kinda though that after they killed Guan-Di that the corpses in the graveyard would come to life or something and we would get to see Bruce use that massive chainsaw.
Other than that, I got no complaints!
