Can anyone give me list of the horror movies that were orignally rated X and only found in adult stores on release?

The only movies I know of this were:

Cannibal Holocaust (1980) (Modified to Unrated)
The Evil Dead (1981) (Re-Rated to NC-17 13 Years after Release)

IMDB also says evil dead II was X on release, but shortly changed to Unrated/R after.

I also seem to see a pattern, the movies that were originally rated X are banned in many places,

The Evil Dead Certification in:
Germany (BANNED)
USA (Heavily Cut)
Canada (Heavily Cut)
Finland (Heavily Cut)
Malaysia (BANNED)
United Kingdom (BANNED) (Re-Rated 9 Years Later to X, unbanned)
Iceland (BANNED)
Ireland (BANNED)
Singapore (BANNED)
Norway (Heavily Cut)
Portugal (Heavily Cut)
New Zealand (Heavily Cut)

-----------

Dont even get me started on Cannibal Holocaust, we all know its banned in the most places.

Can anyone give me a list of gory/horror movies which were originally rated X besides The Evil Dead movies and Cannibal Holocaust?

I already checked movies like

Braindead, ichi the killer, bad taste, etc, all were either R or Unrated.

It's not just gore but you'll find plenty of blood and guts on this list.

Or...we could just post...
Instead of asking someone to trail through pages and pages of sick stuff...

Despare is right.
Check out the excellently compiled Sticky in the General Forum titled "Sickest, Gorific, Visually Challenging HDC 100."
There are 100 of the best X-rated stuff ever shown in (or banned from) a film theater.

Yeah, that way all the work that people put into making those lists to help curious people can be a waste because they're too lazy read. Good idea.

I'm not putting anyone down, I think that everyone deserves a pat on the back for contributing to that list.
But the original post was to find X rated movies, that was all.
How hard would it be to post one title, rather than asking someone to look through all those pages just to find a few titles that they were looking for?
I didn't mean any offense. :o

If I'm not mistaken, "Erotic Nights of the Living Dead:" was Rated X when it was released.

Usually they're not that bad, like...

I Drink Your Blood
The Hills Have Eyes (1977)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III
Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence (NC17)
Phantasm III (NC17)
Friday the 13th (NC17)

A lot of them were cut and released later as Rs or unedited, the real sick films are on that list I showed you the link to. The MPAA over-reacts so often you need to really weed through the somewhat twisted to find the really disturbing stuff.

it's more likely that nobody has bothered to re-release the outstanding 14

p.s.
xtra was rated 15 last year

anyone wanting to know more about this era should seek out john martin's book "the seduction of the gullible", an outstanding read.

Just like to point out, Onewhosighs, that Evil Dead was unbanned in most places, including Ireland, some years ago. And Cannibal Holocaust seems to be available in most places too. The sequel certainly is.
