Oh Hi!

It's Marya your hostess of the supernatural.

From my picture you see me as an old woman with black full dress, granny wig & glasses, old ladies shawl and corn cob pipe. (Actually I am in costume from a Halloween party).

Don't let that throw you. There are a lot of modern horror movies that I like as well as the classics ( but not Michael Myers or Freddie Krueger).

One of the modern horror movies that I really enjoy is the 2001 film Jeepers Creepers. It was a great and suspenseful film along with a surprise ending.

So you see, Marya is not as old fashioned as you may have thought!

The stars of the film are:

Gina Phillips as Trish Jenner

Justin Long as Darry Jenner

Jonathan Breck as The Creeper

Patricia Belcher as Jezelle Hartman

Eileen Brennan as The Cat Lady

The plot involves a brother and sister home from school break who are terrorized by a fanatic in an old beat up truck.

After they have been run off the road they see the truck at an abandoned church whereby it looks like the driver ( The Creeper) is lowering a body bag into a drain pipe. Derry goes back to check and he discoveres at the end of the pipe hundreds of bodies sewn together in a repulsive manner covering the walls of this underground cavern.

Derry & Trish try to call the police at a nearby gas station/ restaurant and receive a call from a local psychic (Jeselle Hartman) warning them of the intention of The Creeper. This demon needs certain body parts to keeps it's existance going. The psychic says that anytime that they hear the song Jeepers Creepers that they are in imminent danger. They think that she is crazy but convince to police to help them.

On the road the two police officers are attacked by The Creeper and killed. At this time Jeepers Creepers is playing on the car radio of Derry & Trish and they are now convinced of the psychic's truthfullness.

They then go to the house of the Cat Lady to use the phone and she is killed also.

Finally Derry & Trish go to the county police headquarters where they seek safety. There that meet the psychic who issues them a dire warning.

The Creeper attacks the police station where it is seeking Derry. Several police officers are killed.

Since this movie has a surprise ending, I will not go any further in the event that some of you may have not seen this movie.

This is a great movie if you like the horror genre. This is not for all tastes or the squeamish. There is plenty of horror, chills and thrills in this movie.

I have to rate this horror movies as one of the best of current times. Leonard Maltin rates it a three out of four stars. I rate it a four star.

This is a definite watch if not own movie for fans of horror.

It is available on DVD.

I have seen the sequel Jeepers Creeper II and will review it at a later date.

Well, I have to creak on over to take my arthritis medicine. Old vampiresses like me are not free from from arthritis. Hee Hee hee!

Well, hope that you all have a great Saturday. Watch a good horror movie if you have time. Ta Ta!

Your hostess of the supernatural

How do you get pictures along with your writeups and replies.

I can get my profile picture and my signature picture, but can't get any additional pictures with my blogs.

How can I put my own avatar on! I keep trying to uploading and I have the correct dimensions ( I think) but it never takes?

I rented Jeppers Creepers on a whim a few years ago and it turned out to be an excellent film. I also enjoy Jeepers Creepers 2, although it is less suspenseful and more of a thrillride.

If you mean smilies, you can see them on the right of this box. ----->>

If you mean pictures in my signature, its hotlinked to my photobucket account.

Each post can carry upto 5 images...all you have to do is click on the IMG button on top which says "Insert Image" then put in the URL address between and .

Dimensions of 150 x 150 can be ok, but is the picture 2.4 KB or less? We used to have bigger size pictures but Horror upgraded the forum last year and made the size considerably lesser.

Your picture should be 150 x 150 pixels or less, and the size of the picture should be less than 2.4 KB.

If you are trying the upload feature here, forget it. It doesnt work. Only avatar loading from your computer works. Nothing else.

sorry to go against the grain but i hated JC. it goes down as one of the all time great starts which ultimately leads to a dull, stupid and unfulfilling conclusion. a bat in a van!:(

I rented Jeepers Creepers when I was really young and even at that age I could have pointed out excactly what dissapointed me. Everything was good at first exept that there weren't enough characters and the creeper only killed random people who weren't part of the story. And when it came to the end the creeper degraded into a monster movie gargoyle as apposed to a wraith-ish kind of character. An introduction to some lore behind the creeper would have been nice too, but I haven't seen the second one (and I don't really care to due to a friends review), maybe that explains more. It's really a movie that should be remade (seems like something coscarelli should really do after Bubba Nosferatu) I loved the design of the creeper, was that Tom Savini?
