for anyone who has been wondering where i have been off too, (and if you werent wondering, :p), here is a list of events over the past few months.

We have been trying to sell our house for a few months now, and today we have an offer! $4000 under what we were asking , but we expected something like that.

I am once again in between jobs.; I was working as a contract programmer for a month and a half (from home), but it turns out the guy i was working for got bent out of shapoe if i got near 40 hours of work a week, then tried to stiff me a week's worth of pay. He claimed he never recieved the email with the timesheet. So i emailed hiom the timesheet, the original email i sent him, plus 2 emails that he sent in response to it. I got my money, but that contract was cancelled.

I interviewed for a job at Microsoft, in the Redmond office, but didnt get it. I have some prospects in Raleigh, which is where we want to move, so that is much much better.

I havent had a ton of time to write, but I have been decveloping some cool softwARE,and once it hits the beta test stage, expect to see me here recruiting people to test it.

I have a spiffy new computer, a beautiful $3000 tax write off. A 17" widescreen Laptop; an Alienware Aurora M7900. It is SLI ready, but right now only has one video card.

With any luck, further updates in the near future will be either form VA (if we are staying with Bree's sister), or NC.

Footnote: I have a copy of Final Draft 7 on this bad-boy, so soon I will be working on screenplay versions of Father Dillon's Funeral and Justice. If anyone is unfamiliar with those stories, let me know and I will repost them in the horror fiction section.

Have have you all been? :D

Oh, we also \decided to see what i would look like bald last night, so here is me now, without a single hair on top of my head. Its nice and cool for this time of year, but hats feel weird with no hair, and i keep getting stared out. No doubt people think I am dying or a nazi.

hmm... may have to wait for that one, it wont let me upload the pic...

Hey Vod! Glad to see you back.

$4000 under asking price isn't bad at all considering the market. There are a record number of foreclosures going on throughout the country...so take what you can get!

Glad to hear you have Final Draft now. It's a little glitchy for such a simple program, but it will certainly speed up the writing process. Best of luck, my friend.

We are pretty happy with 4000 below ( their first offer was for $50,000 (asking price was $59,000, its a mobile) and we almost laughed at them). the entire interior and exterior has been redone, by me over the past year, and we bought it for 43,000, so 55,000 is pretty godamn good :)

I have only poked around a little with fonal draft so far, but i might get cracking tonight. I think Justice will be my jump-off, it has seemed to get the best responses from people.

Lily is a year and a half old this month and more beautiful than ever. she knows close to 150 words now and can form 2 and 3 word sentances, and understands how to make nouns possesive (daddy's hair gone is a big one :))

I feel so loved. Now if only i could feel employed....

No, you don't! :p

Good luck with the job search, Vod. Yes, "Justice" is my favorite of all of your stories! Although, I'm kinda partial to "Father Dillon's Funeral", too.

I just realized how few of us remain from the really old days of HDC. If Vod had posted a thread like this a year ago, it'd have 30-40 replies by now. Now there's not even many of us around that remember Vod. (But those of us that do remember him are always glad to see him stop back in to say hi. :) )

Mem'ries,
Like the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? could we?
Mem'ries, may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember...
The way we were...
The way we were...

Thank you :)

Bree has been riding me forever to do something useful with justice, she feels the same way you do about it. I would love to find someplace that would buy it, but while that search continues, I figure if i can make several thousand dollars off the idea, i may as well ;)

Rod, hoiw much are movie screenplays going for these days?

2.5% of the film's budget.

can be anywhere from $15,000 - $1,000,000... so they say:o But that's dependent on a movie getting made, which has yet to happen for me. (SciFi Channel not withstanding)

The Studio funding the project was recently purchased by someone else...rights are screwy...it's on hold...sets are mothballed...I have props in my bedroom...the producer is awesome and he's pushing to get it back on track.

I'll let you know if/when it works out:(

I'm glad Rod didn't really leave. I like learning showbiz tidbits here and there & getting updates on his projects. :)
