When you are arguing & you realize the other person is right & that you are wrong, do you keep on arguing the same point...? Or do you admit defeat and tell the other person you're right?

stubborn by name..stubborn by nature
I have this uncanny way ...
even though em wrong
the other person apologises and feels bad about
the whole arguement..

Admit it and move on. To argue when you know you are wrong is evidence of stupidity.

Admit it, apologize and move on. Life's too short.
Though, I am never wrong, so I really wouldn't know.....;)
Kidding, of course.

Yeah, when we bring logic into it, my husband always gets me as well. I personally prefer the arguments where we are both completely irrational....:p
Okay, okay he's never irrational......irritating really.....;)

Does it still feel weird to say 'Husband'?:)
It took me years to get over saying 'my husband...' without feeling that little thrill go thru my body:)
Just wait until you get the opportunity to say 'my daughter' or 'my son'.
It's still gives me butterfly stomach to say those:)

What are the arguments about?
I honestly cannot remember the last argument I had with my wife. We don't really argue. We may have a heated political debate or philosophical/theological discussion, but arguing seems so silly.
Life's short. Love one another.:)

Well, since my husband's outlook is pretty much the same, we don't really argue much at all. I have to be honest and admit that the only time we do is when I am being difficult. And I can be very difficult. :( When one part of my life isn't going right, it effects every part of my life, I get irritable....so on and so on. Afterward, I always realize how ridiculous it is.

Same with me and my silly egyptian..
we don't argue..we debate and we discuss ..some of the topics are silly..
but the serious subjects we listen clearly to each others point of veiws.
[same as Rods]..political/philosophical..
in these we respect one and others opinions. :)
Its real nice..
I am never difficult by the way..

Its hard to get upset over a political or philosophical debate, for one, because we agree on so much, and also, we understand one another so well and the other person's view point even when we disagree. Its weird, we're like the same person, only he is more reasonable, and less high strung. We're very similar in many, many ways.....I'm surprised we get along so well, I always heard the more like someone you are, the harder they are to live with. ;)
The only thing we have ever REALLY disagree with each other on is music. And that's not even completely, I like a lot of what he likes and vice versa.
But I am non argumentative in general, I see no reason to get upset with anyone, or insult anyone, for having a differing opinion. There is always a way to say what you have to say, make your point, and remain civil while making sure you listen to what they have to say, allowing them to make their point; no matter who you are debating.

I must admit that I am difficult and enjoy needling my wife ad infinitum. It's all teasing for teasing's sake... and she gives it right back, but I couldn't call that arguing. It's just a rather spirited game that usually ends with a lot of nakedness (not necessarily voluntary) and maybe even a little discipline;)

yes, i admit that it isn't a very good quality to have and most of the time i try to keep it in check. but i guess i'm just stubborn. my third grade teacher used to drag me out in the hallway just to tell me that, that i was stubborn, and i remember always being so confused because at that time i didn't know what it meant. it made me feel kind of bad, but i kind of also thought it was a good thing. i now realize that sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad.

10 years and 3 kids and I know we're OLDER than you guys....
But then again, fighting without the making up parts...well, why bother with an argument in the first place.:D
You know, I was thinking about this and, in a long term relationship passion comes alot quicker with a fight much more than with flowers.

I used to be like this and with certain ppl ..i still am..
but these are ppl who really don't know what the hell they are talking about
anyways..
they don't know whose right or wrong..every now and then..they need to
say a few words to see if they can actually speak whole words without choking.

When I argue about something, I usually stick to it till the end...but when the point which I am arguing for is invalid, or false...and I am in the wrong, I just end it there...apologise to the person, and move on...
There's no sense in continuing an argument for argument's sakes, because in the end, it makes you a bigger fool than you already have become...and there's no shame in asking for forgiveness, because in the end all involved come out happy from it...
The world today, the busy and short life...even 24 hours seem small...sometimes it seems surprising how so soon a day, even a week has passed by in the blink of an eye...and in such times, petty quarrels and arguments seem totally pointless, and solve nothing...

If I'm actually convinced that I am wrong, I'll admit it, no problem. But the other arguement has to be pretty damn compelling. :D

Touche'
depending on the other persons arguemental points
including how they present it ..
If em wrong ..if i see my debater is unsure of the topic
I have a way of making them all tongue twisted /blabbery and all
confused.
Its just for my own amusement btw.

When I realize I am wrong, I try to start wording things to end the fight like I was just misunderstanding what the original argument was about so that I don't APPEAR to be such an ass.......although if I just came right out and said 'oh, I'm an ass, I'm sorry' it would be so much better:D
I have been trying very hard though, to not get into an argument in the first place.

I may not admit it right away, but after I have time to calm down and think about the situatuion I will. I don't like things hanging over my head like that.
