some fools will say "it's in the Bible" referring to the third commandment against taking the Lord's name in vain. But these people who cringe at the words "God Damn" obviously do not know their Bible.
The commandment has nothing to do with cursing. It specifically says ""Thou shalt not use the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who uses His name in vain."
Not hold him guiltless? Somehow swearing is unforgivable? No. It isn't swearing that this commandment forbids - it is feigning holiness in order to practice wickedness. Like a politician who bends the inherent goodness and morality of the people to serve an illicit end.
This is the "Using the Lord's name in vain" against which the bible teaches - too bad so many people are so poorly educated on the subject. It is this ignorance that comes up with the concept of "bad words."

there wasn't any one person who said words were bad, they develop over time. Words such as bitch never used to be ofensive, now, children get told off for using them. Shit came from S.H.I.T which was written on manure sacks travelling over sea "Store high in Transit" Crap came from Crapper, the guy who invented the toilet, fuck came from the german word frichen which means to strike, bastard is a guy who's parents aren't married. They just slowly develop into offensive words which are then frowned upon.

Good question, interesting topic. I agree that it's stupid that society says putting certain letters together makes you bad. Fuck that.
