Would you buy her as a heroine in a gory, rated R horror film? This is a distinct possibility and I would like to gauge public opinion on the casting choice.
Anyone who cries "Disney Channel" on this one needs to remember that Kurt Russell got his start in silly Disney movies as well.

Trust me, the movie is gory and violent and scary and very, very wet.
Would you like to see Miss Duff in a nasty Pulp Fiction meets Entourage meets The Exorcist?

i'd prefer an unknown over her if the acting was up to scratch. but, if it's a good movie it's a good movie. i hate to say it but, a lot of what i watch is based on reviews unless i'm really interested in a sublect then i'll watch it regardless. that said, most of the reviews that i read come from here.
I'm willing to give anybody a chance. I try not to let the tabloid bullshit influence my perspectives.

Good place to read them. Most people here, especially the regulars, are usually honest in their opinion, even with big name movies.

i've found that if the majority of the feedback from here is good you can't go far wrong. it stands to reason that if a horror site doesn't approve of a certain horror movie it must be poor.

Indeed. We are the critics, not the people being payed to say a movie is good. :D

Personally, I find her annoying and her acting mediocre. But, if the movie looks good, I'd probably Netflix it.

I think it would be an amazing leap for her and many MANY people would love to see her in something so damatically different than what she has ALWAYS done.
Movie goers love to see actors go against type.
And besides-if she sucks donkey dick we will still be amused:cool:

She'd be in great peril, but she won't die...at least not in the first installment. But she will get beaten up pretty badly, have a car wreck, lose friends and ... don't want to spoil the surprise, but it's a great role.

If I heard good things about the movie, and it was a horror film that was playing in the area......sure I would pay to see the movie. Why not? I don't really know enough about her acting talent, or lack thereof, to make a judgement anyway. And hey, I have liked many horror films where the acting was less than impressive. ;)

If the Director of this movie can coax a strong performance out of Miss Duff and the script is good then I would have no problem going to see this, who is the Director BTW?
There have been plenty of failures when a child/teen star goes into more adult roles but there is the odd success,Jodie Foster springs to mind,I don't think anyone watching Freaky Friday would have imagined that this young girl would go on to win two Oscars for powerful performances as a rape victim and a F.B.I Agent on the trail of a serial killer.

The only thing i hate about Hilary Duff and actresses like her
are the way thier hair never gets messy or make up out of place
not to mention the way they talk..'shivers''
i hate them .

and don't worry, SF - no one in this film will have perfectly un-mussed hair. Everyone gets filthy and wet (bloody)

to me it doesn't matter what they've previously done./ I've been suprised several times. If she hadn't been in halloween, right now, I probably couldn't see Jamie Lee Curtis in a horror. It depends on the individual film for me.

true...but Russell was quite a dork as Dexter Riley in all those flicks. It certainly is far from official, I was just trying to gauge public opinion on this one before sending her the script...her manager has been hounding me, but neither of them has read the script yet - she may not even be interested.
Thanks to all of you for your opinions, I appreciate them greatly. And of course I will keep all of you up-to-date as things progress.

I've got a feeling the man might be able to coax a good performance out of her...I'd go see it just for him (and since you wrote it of course). She would be a bonus.
