I just watched The Beach for the first time, been avoiding it for a while because I thought it would be shite, and I didn't want to waste that un-getbackable-time on it, but I was actually impressed... a bit! It’s not that bad a film at all... It’s a real reminder of how society works in a different situation than we are usually faced with, but at the same time not a patch on The Lord of The Flies which was fucking fantastic! Any views of either of these films?

I'd suggest reading the book if you liked the film, much better IMO.

Which book? I have read The Lord of the Flies if thats what you mean. I don't know if The Beach is based on a book.

Nope, the book of the beach.

Same story, but much more in depth, darker and scarier.
I liked the film, but liked the book a lot better.

Cool, thanks for the info, I'll get a copy of it. Books are almost always better than the film. :D
