Depeche Mode: Devotional DVD filmed by Anton Corbjin.
Show on their Devotional Tour (1993-1994) which Q Magazine called "the most debauched tour ever!", Easy to see why when you read what happened to each band member at the end of it. Dave Gahan tried to kill himself with a heroin overdose, Alan Wilder burned out and quit the band, Martin L Gore had alchol induced seizures and Andy Fletcher suffered from "anxiety issues". That's a bad comedown! Can't wait for their new album due this year wonder if they'll finally get Alan Wilder to re-join the band. I doubt it but you never know.

That's such a great guitar solo on The Kiss. Robert Smith is pretty underrated as a guitarist. Seen em live many times, and yeah Trilogy is a nice concept.
On a pretty unrelated note, I've been listening to a lot of Carcass lately, gearing up to see them in a couple months. The last show I saw was High on Fire / Kvelertak. I know, not so much related to DVDs, but I don't buy many concert DVDs.

This show was pretty killer. I had no idea Repulsion was opening for them. That was almost better than seeing Carcass. Both bands sorta had Old Guy syndrome, but still know how to grind it out.
Also saw Failure a month or so ago. Great show. No opening band, just two long sets of grungy space rock.

A RETURN TO SIN CITY-A TRIBUTE TO GRAM PARSONS. Various artists do the songs of the late country rock musician (The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers) with good turns by Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Raul Palo, James Burton although it's odd Emmylou Harris and Chris Hillman are missing. Sadly not missing is Keith Richards who introduced Parsons to a darker drug usage and it's downright embarrassing watching him shamble and croak, especially on the "Love Hurts" duet with Norah Jones::confused::.

AC/DC Live at The Capital Centre 12/21/1981- Not really a DVD, but watched this on YOUTUBE yesterday. It will be 40 years ago tomorrow that I was there::shocked::...can't believe it's been so long ago. Was a Huge fan by this time and determined to see them. Skipped class to wait at the arena (sadly gone by 2002) in chilly weather, sipping booze from other people's flasks, show sold out when I was almost at the ticket window, but second show added and got a good seat on the floor.
Do recall I had a WONDERFUL time here, although my Date certainly didn't (Girlfriend I had broken up with and trying to re-kindle the romance-what better place than an AC/DC show, right?). Best part of the show was during "Let There Be Rock" when Angus Young sat on a Roadie's shoulders and went into the crowd. Thought he would circle around, but went down the aisle I was sitting in and probably not more than 2 feet or so away. I touched him on the shoulder and got shoved away by Security, but people behind Me stopped Me from falling. Very cool seeing myself on the video, although it was brief.
Have seen a lot of shows over the decades and still have to declare that the was THE BEST show ever for Me. SO pumped up, SO Sweaty and Such a good performance by "The Thunder From Down Under".
