Just 'cos...

I want reccomendations for some PS2 games.
Ok, here's what I'm after...
Don't mention silent hill or resident evil, or any god of war sequels. I'm good to go on those. Although, a little further info on res evil 4 wouldn't hurt.
No rally, or super-realistic (aka fucking boring) racing games.

Games I've played and enjoyed...
The warriors
GTA series
Marvel vs Capcom 2
NFS series
God of War (getting #2)
Devil may Cry
SOUL CALIBUR series
I liked what I saw from YAKUZA
Gladiator
Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
Fahrenheit (aka indigo prophecy)
Ratchet and Clank (or games of this type that are better, not worse)
Gauntlet & Hunter, 2-player co-op games like this.
Good, but not WEIRD and annoying horror/thriller type stuff.

...and I've always thought ICO looked rather interesting

Other than that stuff...just generally decent action/beat em ups, driving games that aren't JUST race after race, Good adventures with depth, any interesting puzzle-type games, decent RPGS. Mission based drivers..etc..
Really anything you guys think is worth a mention, I'll at least give a spin.

I know you're looking for PS2 games...But, if you have a Game Cube, Eternal Darkness is bad ass

For PS2...If you're a Bruce Campbell fan, there are the Evil Dead games: Hail To The King, Fistful Of Boomstick, and Regeneration...I have all of them, and personally I think Regeneration is the best

Bruce Campbell also did Broken Helix, but I think that was only for the original PlayStation...I have that one, too...It was fun

I also love Nightmare Creatures (I have it for 64) and Nightmare Creatures 2 (I have that one for Playstation)...Not sure if they made any for PS2...But, now I'm going to try to find out :)

Nightmare Creatures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightmare_Creatures)

Resident Evil 4 info (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_evil_4)

Whoa...There IS a Nightmare Creatures 3!!!...Now I have to find it...Thanks Cheeba, I wouldn't have even thought about it :)

Hmm...I'm finding that Nightmare Creatures 3 may have been cancelled in the US...WTF?

Why don't you ever post this stuff in games...? You never do.

Ico was pretty good but check out Shadow of the Colossus, amazing game. Yakuza was so so, nothing outstanding but a decent mash of a lot of different things. I'm looking forward to Odin Sphere on May... 29th I think. That game looks crazy cool.

Okami is pretty cool, maybe the street fighter anniversary collection if you like street fighter.

Bigger audience...and...this thread thus far proves, that only 2 out of every 6 people bitch about it, I'm good with that.
Insert standard "it's the general forum so I can talk about anything" blah blah blah shit here

Ico was pretty good but check out Shadow of the Colossus, amazing game.
Is it meant to be set in the same universe or something, I heard they have something to do with eachother. Tell me more about ico.

I also love Nightmare Creatures
Yeah, they seem pretty good...played as much of the first as I'm probably ever gonna...the second looked better...I actually have a copy for dreamcast but I've yet to put it on.

Will ring him tomorrow and ask what else he's got.
Hey, if the kid doesn't like shitty games, fire away.

Adding to ps2 games I like
"rise to honour"

...More suggestions, if you please...Some good 2-player co-op games, and mission based driving stuff would be good....

Why not? thought it sounded like it'd get some attention?
Thanks for the reco, but find I can't get into the sports games...soccer ones are the only onles I can ever do orright at...but, I still pretty much suck at those too...more into killing and hurting...

If you havent played em yet, try "The Thing" and "Matrix: Path of Neo".

The Thing is a pretty cool game...and you ll absolutely love it. Path of Neo needs some getting-together-with-the-moves, but once you perfect em, its a kickass game.

I also recommend Onimusha 2, thats a fantastic game if you can find it.

Yes, I liked the thing, played into it but think I got to a point that I got pissed off...may try it again in the future. It was a nice sequel to the film, VERY good atmosphere.
Onimusha I'd like to get all of. I played one of them a while back last time I had a ps2 (thanks for reminding me btw), and it seemed awesome. Samurai resident evil type shit, niccce.

I looked at path of neo apprehensively...the last matrix game I didn't much like at all, but I HAVE looked at the second one and considered trying it... What's better about this one?

You seem pretty in tune with the stuff I like...any further recos would be welcome.

NO sports game? Have you even tried the NFL or NBA Street games? Those are plenty fun but the FIFA Street was... just bad.

Anyway, Ico is a real treat to play but I would rent it. The game involves solving puzzles while leading this girl around who doesn't talk... it's hard to explain. You fight shadows with a stick and wear a viking-like helmet. Shadow is different, it has a very similar art style because it comes from the same company but it's a game of boss battles. Every creature you fight is a towering beast, and it's amazing. I'll never forget riding around shooting arrows at this monster and doing NO damage. So then you ride your horse up to and climb up on its leg which leads to slowly making your way up its almost maze like body to stab it in the head and bring it down. It's entertaining to say the least.

Now that there sounds kind've along the lines of god of war....never really wanted to pick this one up, but after reading that I may just. Are there any enemies on the body?
The art on both games looks brilliant...might grab them both in fact.

If you like Indigo Prophecy, check out Shadow Of Destiny...That is, if you can find a copy anywhere. It's very similar in the story and atmosphere, but it doesn't have quite the depth. One of my personal favorite games though.
