I dunno, sometime after the early 90's they just dissapeared, I'm talking shows like the twilight zone, tales from the crypt, and the oldskool, way better "outer Limits", and movies like Creepshow/Freakshow....
I know I've missed a few on the small list, but I KNOW there was no shortage of 'em....they might've been ridiculous at times, some of 'em mighta sucked, but goddamn it, I kinda grew up through the 80's watching these, and they were always great fun....so, what the fuck happened????
Where are my half hour long, poorly acted horror shows?!?
Does this bother anyone else?

oh you are not alone on this.. I miss them too.. I really miss Tales from the Darkside and Monsters... every week I would wait for them to come on.. But then Tales from the Darkside moved to this othe channel and only came on late at night, so then I would have to stay up.. no biggie to me though.. when I was younger I lived for this stuff.. Why cant they just make a new series for us horror fans to watch.. guess they will do this with the horror channel, huh..

What about "Freddy's Nightmares"? I loved those...and Why did the "Friday the Thirteenth" series last so long while the others disappeared?...Tales from the Darkside and Monsters were WAY better...

Ever heard of the Sci-Fi Channel?
If you kids are still up after 12, they show all those old ass shows, but by that time I'm to stoned to pay attention anyway.

I use to LOVE "Tales from the Crypt", and the old episodes of the "Twilight Zone" and the "Outer Limits". Now all that is left is stupid "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" that show sucks. Then CBS came up with "Wolf Lake" now that show was cool to bad they canceled it. Dumb asses.

The last series I saw that was kinda like in the same ballpark, a bit higher a scifi to horror ratio in it, was called "Freakylinks"...anyone see that?
Still, all the same, when the fuck did these excellent horror-themed shows become NOT a good thing?!?
Also, while on the topic of TV in general, I watched what I thought was a great show a few years ago called "The Nowhere Man"....they stopped showing it here (for some dumbass reason) after about 5 episodes...can anyone fill me in on how the series ended???
LONG LIVE THE OLDSKOOL HORROR SHOWZ!!!!

I loved all those shows too...
I really wish they would produce more, but lately they have released lame versions like the last Twilight Zone remake on UPN. Those retarded versions fail in the ratings and I think that makes the studios think the genre won't sell. They just need better producers I guess. Lets pray the horror channel has original programming and reruns our old favorites like Sci-Fi does now with Sci-Fi.
I loved the following and you can still find them:
*Tales from the Crypt - American Movie Classics (airs every Friday night as part of Fear Friday) - also select episodes on DVD
*The Outer Limits (original) - Sci-Fi Channel
*The Outer Limits (Showtime remake) - Syndication (channel 36 in SF Bay area)
*The Twilight Zone (original) - Sci-Fi Channel
*Dark Shadows - Sci-Fi Channel
*Friday the 13th Series - Coming to DVD (I liked it, but I know other didn't)
*Lost in Space - Coming to DVD (maybe not horror, but had to mention it)
Loved these shows, but can't find:
*Monsters (this one was a favorite)
*Twilight Zone (80's Remake)
*Freddy's Nightmares (Can't find the VHS versions, but they are out there)
Have not seen, but would love to:
*Freakylinks
*Tales from the Darkside (I vaguely remember it, but not sure if I saw it)
Didn't really like:
*Recent Twilight Zones on UPN
*Nickelodeon versions of these shows - I was just a little to old for their toned down versions of horror to get into it
Although it's Sci-fi, the totally retarded Enterprise was revamped this season into a very cool and exciting sci-fi/horror angle. Their ZOMBIE VULCANS ROCK!!!

here in belgium they only played tales from the crypt and outer limits, but that has been ages, it's stupid, the channel that played it mostly repeats shows like crazy, they showed shows like that 70s show 5 times already, why not with tales froim the crypt
I have a VHS of tales from the darkside

I haven't seen Freddy's Nightmares since it aired on TV. I'm not quite ready to make a bline purchase for that. Just wish I could find it to rent.

It's cancelled. That was the UPN version I mentioned, hosted by Forest Whitaker. It sucked big time - too slow - too lame - wish it hadn't been though.

Rayne, (or anyone?)
First of all, Is "no more mr nice guy" about a robbery of a fast-food place or something at the beginning?
I remember seeing a Freddy's Nightmare that I thought was pretty cool (and I didn't much like this series due to lack of "freddy time"), this one had Freddy towards the end, it was about some detective dude that was investigating a bizarre death that was thought to be an impossible suicide (the body was found sitting in a "spin-around" type chair, with a ring of blood around it, after the body's gone, for some reason, I can't remember, it seemed that some evidence was found to link the detective to the scene, he escaped back into the house to try and clear his name, and falls asleep in the chair. The same thing happens to him that happened to the other guy, Freddy comes into the dream, spins the chair around really fast, and slashes his throat....hence the ring of blood....I wouldn't mind actually getting this episode...know what it's called?
Also, yknow if they released a double dvd with ALL episodes on it....I think it'd probably be a seller.....but then again, this goes back to my beef with cancellation of the cool old shows, and how not MANY of them have been released yet....I dunno if things'll ever be good again....WHERE ARE MY GODDAMN SHOWS!!!???!!!

"No More Mister Nice Guy" was the first episode to air...It's supposed to be everything that happened before the first movie...Freddy's crimes, arrest, trial, and burning...As for the second one you mentioned..It sounds REAL familiar, but, I'm not sure which one it was...sorry:(

I wish Tales From The Crypt would come to DVD, that was my favourite one. I know there's one DVD already but it's only like the Robert Zemekis episodes or something.
Anybody watch Amazing Stories - the similar Spielberg show? That had some good episodes.

godofgrease///hey, thanks man, I can go after that episode now (fuck the rest, I prefer the movies, that AND I always thought all this show ever did was milked an "dying"icon as long as they could by creating a sub-standard attempt at the tales of the crypt wannabe - hey, some of 'em were "ok" but I'd only bother seeing that one episode that stuck with me again.)
Yeah sleepaway, I saw that show, at the age of about 14, so, as I recall, I woulda thought it was "way cool", wouldn't mind catching it on late night tv sometime in the next few yrs tho....

Just checked - no boxset - phew - thought I'd missed something! There's one DVD with a whopping 3 episodes on it! The second disc was supposed to of been out but looks like it was pulled due to low sales of the first one.
