Okay, now, keep it brief, it you will...this is an exercise in succinctness.
What did you think the good (and bad) points of DOG SOLDIERS were?
What worked for you? What didn't?

I'll keep it pithy.
Pros- Great werewolves! The best horror/action flick since Aliens.
Cons- The beginning of the film is a little boring.
Great flick!

Positives - Good build-up, dynamite script, excellent visuals, good CGI and effects.
Negatives - Amateurish feel, more than one instance of "Aliens" rip-off, weak beginning, bleak actors.

Good points: just about everything; solid characters and performances, good effects, smart writing. All around one of the best werewolf films of recent times.
Not so good points: I find nothing bad about this film, I do think that it resembled several other films a little too much at times. Also, I did make some jokes about how top heavy the werewolves appeared; overall though they had a great look.

THE GOOD: The best looking werewolves I've ever seen.
THE BAD: I didn't like the military aspect. It kept me from identifying more with the characters. I also think better, creepier music would have helped add some "horror feel"...
THE UGLY: Very thick Scottish dialect...

I agree with McCoy and Jenna there was nothing bad about this film - yes it was a little bit amateur-ish but the guy clearly had a very low budget! I think he did an awesome job. And the humour was awesome - it had me in stitches!
Am a bit confused though - it wasn't really thick scottish, just one guy with a scottish accent! And if you thought that was difficult steer clear of "Trainspotting"!!!

Yeah, I can't say I had any trouble with the accents in Dog Soldiers. Trainspotting is one of my favorite movies (and also one of my favorite books btw), and yes, the accents there were much harder for me to understand.

Pro- Cool werewolves, some tension
Con-The soldiers don't seem vulnerable enough to make the conflict significant.

the only thing i liked in dog soldiers was when they were sealing the house and then the werewolf stuck its hand through the mail slot and the dude smacked its hand with the hammer. i nearly pissed myself laughing :D

I'm not sure how much more vunerable they could be.......they were stuck in the middle of no-where with limited ammo! Any more vunerable wouldn't seem realistic.

Good thing: the ending kicked major ass.
Bad thing: I didn't enjoy the blood splatter patterns, seemed very 'off'.

I really enjoyed Dog Soldiers, the werewolves looked fantastic. The comedy aspect was quite impressive too.
The only downside to the movie was all the dodgy accents, but that wouldn't put you off it.
All in all i thought that it was a very enjoyable movie.

Great film. The accent wasnt bad at all, considering the Spanish setting. One of the best werewolf films till date.

I think he was trying to say Scottish and typed Spanish instead.

I loved the film because of the realistic werewolves - also liked the tongue in cheek satire and the fact that the characters were realistic - egotistic, well 'ard British soldiers!

A tight story. Good film. A bit better than The Descent in my opinion, but equal in the sense that Marshall tries to go outside the box a little with conventional horror elements. I started watching this film on cable not knowing at all what is was about. Which was great because, when the werewolves showed up, I was as surprised as the characters! It doesn't really give much of a hint it's a horror flick straightaway (unless I missed it, which is entirely possible).
The Descent and the all female cast was another coup for Marshall. I thought it fell apart a little here and there, but it felt fresh, just like Dog Soldiers.

Great film! Tis in my collection, and not many modern films get in there. The werewolves were class, great lonely setting, good story, funny too. One of the good ones for sure, I really like it.
Down side of it would be... erm... ewww... dunno! Fuck... maybe there is none! The food made me hungry... maybe that's a bad thing.
