For anyone that doesn't feel like reading the article, here's the summary.

A same day dry-cleaning business lost a pair of pants belonging to a customer. A couple days later, the customer asked them to pay $1000 to cover the whole cost of the suit, but the dry cleaners had since found the pair of pants and refused to pay the $1000. That was when the unhappy customer decided to sue them... for 65 million dollars! (The article details how he arrived at this number.)

Here's the kicker... The unhappy customer is a US Judge!!! It makes me absolutely sick that someone sworn to uphold the law is trying to take advantage of it in this way! Being a judge, you'd think he'd be the first to recognize that there's absolutely no chance in hell that a lost pair of pants should warrant anything more than they cost to begin with, yet here he is... Trying to take advantage of the system like so many other schmucks out there. Fucking disgusting.

that really does make me sick. over here, the courts and police have been told to go easy on any foreigner breaking the law because they "Don't know what they're doing." But that guy deserves to be fucking fired! If one thing pisses me off it's that people take advantage of the law for their own profit.

It made me sick reading that article. The fact that those hard-working people's lives are scuppered because of some jumped up, greedy git!

Excerpt "And former National Labors Relations Board chief administrative law judge Melvin Welles wrote to The Washington Post to urge "any bar to which Mr. Pearson belongs to immediately disbar him and the District to remove him from his position as an administrative law judge."

DEFINITELY!

a woman sued the rail system and won.
She watched a male friend of hers jump a moving train so decided to follow suit.
However..she wasn't as fast ..slipped and was seriously injured.
She own her case because the hand rail she grabbed on to was loose..this was the reason her jump was unsuccesful..!!patheitc is not word.

I just dont get how the juries can even take these cases seriously. They're being idiots and ruining innocent people lives. I'm glad that fat fuck didn't win her case against Mcdonalds

I've witnessed Judge Judy dismiss a plaintiff's case for unreasonable suing! If she could see it and do something about it, why cant they all???

(You didnt really see me saying Judge Judy then, okay) :o

The most sickest thing I've ever heard of is this.

A woman who decided she didn't want to pay the cover charge to get into a club.So she decided to sneek in a bathroom window.Upon entering the window she slip fell and busted out her front teeth. She then in turn sued the club for the cost of her dental bill and then some and she actually won.Now this is just crazy.

a guy over here tried to break into a shopping mall through the skylight and got stuck..he tried to sue the mall owners as the skylight was too small and the police for not taking his plight seriously...cos the officers laughed when they saw him.
He was an obese man trying to slither his way down a very small hole.
Of course he lost...but honestly..

It makes the man involved a joke and I hope he loses his position over it but the legal system itself isn't a joke at all. It's people who make a decision to fleece each other in order to obtain the most money, not just judges. If he wins I'll consider it a sad day in legal history but the legal system itself shouldn't be blamed. Should we not be able to take matters like this to court no matter who we are? I'm glad he has a right to file such a stupid suit, as long as he doesn't win.

I agree to an extent, but people win these kind of ludicris lawsuits all the time and therein lies the problem.

The problem is still within the people though. People suck and will do anything to get rich. People will also be stupid enough to allow others to leech off of the rest of the population. The system is fine, the human beings are what screw it up.

The system is flawed because it allows for millions and millions of tax dollars to be wasted on ridiculous lawsuits like this one every year and even occasionally rewards the person making the ridiculous claim, which in turn spawns more greedy leeches to give it a try.
