Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum, glad I found it.
I've always loved horror since watching American werewolf when I was 7, my mum brought it back to try it out on our brand new VHS machine. When they were the latest tech way back in 81.

Anyway I thought this would be a good place to post a short movie I done with a couple of friends last week over two nights. It's very low budget (at one point we used a green bucket to create a green light effect)but we done it for a competition on a site called firebox. We need as many votes as we can get so would really appreciate it if you'd give it a vote after watching it.

Would love to know what you guys think.

Here's the link

Many thanks

Cheers Horrormad. Really appreciate the feedback as it's hard to tell if you've actually made something that's kinda of fun or really sucks arse after working on it.

Nice Avatar by the way.

Good film. Well done. I'm looking forward to your next one. I likes your use of light and shadow, but some scenes were simply too dark to make out.

A little more effort on cinematography and it would be quite good. You have a good eye and the story is easy to follow and well-told, which may not seem like high praise, but you'd be astonished at how many beginning filmmakers can't get their point across.

Keep up the good work.

Hey thanks for the feedback guys.
It was a real rushed effort. We spent last Tuesday and Wednesday nights filming it at my house, we were up till about 3:00 on Wednesday night. Thursday night I quickly edited it together and Saturday added the CG. It was quite funny because we didn't have any lights so we just had to use a lamp to move around the room. We did record better sound but because the movie had to be in for Sunday we ended up using the camera mics sound.

I always used to make short movies when I was little up in till about the age of 15 when I then had to go out and get a job. It's so annoying because when I was young I had all the and time but no money for equipment. Now I have the money but no time to create ideas and film them. So I was really glad I forced myself to enter this competition it's really got me back into the swing of things.

I have actually got a story I wrote around 4 years ago that I really want to film. It would take a lot more effort then this one but I reckon it would be worth it.

I really, really appreciate the feed back.. Many thanks for your time.

The editing stands out, and I liked the encounter with the guy in the hood near the end.

Good luck in the competition.

Thanks pr3ssur3 .

The guy in the hood is my lodger. He also done the sounds for the movie using mainly stuff from the Raw Fear Cd.
I like the way his eyes came out with really bad bags underneath, no makeup just lack of sleep from staying up till 3:00 :) We all looked pretty dead after making this movie, maybe our next one should be a zombie fest, will be able to save money on the makeup.
