Just curious as to what kind of jobs the people of HDC have. I am a full time student and did work part-time at a daycare, but I quit because I was spending more more on gas then I was making.

I'm referred to as an agent.
I work in an office, and jobs vary dependant upon client specifications.
We've done work for msn, the state rail authority here, the govt currently in power here, sony...and many other campaigns run on and off for different organisations.
At the moment, my role is largely customer service, data retrieval and info processing. Chances are I'll be further trained within a year to move into the HR field, or potentially staff training and management.
So I guess I'll lean towards this one instead of an actual position as a chef...I came to realise I didn't much like the industry, but continued for personal interest...still plenty to learn there...the food thing is by far not over for me, but anyways...yeah, my office...Not a bad firm...they have offices in every major city here, and usually promote from within for their interstate positions too. For some reason they feed us there too...all the damn time they're bringin' around lunch or candy, drinks or whatever.
Pretty decent place, everyones pretty cool there, even the management, I've yet to run across somebody that makes me wanna kill 'em....weird....
Yknow, in future I might look into owning/operating my own small catering operation or B&B with my chick when we have the appropriate funds together, but for now, I'm happy to stay with my current job and see where it takes me.

editing is fun. especially at weeklies. instead of just one job like a person would probably have at a daily, a person working at a weekly over looks everything. it is fun to dabble in advertising, pagination, writing, editing, photography, etc. if it would only pay better :(

Sounds great. Lol at the pay. Thats always the way you find a job you acctually like doing and the pay is shit. That was the way it was for my old job shit pay and travel expenises, not good. Editing would be too much responsiblity for me and I just couldnt do it lol. Advertising and photography would be cool but im talentless sadly lol.

I work for a non-profit organization that provides all kinds of services for the blind and visually impaired. I am a developement Assistant which basically means I deal with all the donations/money and monthly reports and that is pretty much it. It's very relaxed.
My pay went down from where I just left, I was working for a place that makes ballistic eyewear for the military but it was a living hell for the last 1 1/2 yr. I couldn't take it anymore.
As someone said above happiness usually equals less pay. But o well. I am much happier now.

Very cool job indeed, with a great salary and great advantages. Plus, since I am a translator and not an accountant, I don't meet the clients, so I don't have to wear a suit and tie and I can keep my hair long :D

I have my first actual job lined up for this summer.
Starting in 3 weeks.
I didn't even have to apply.
I got lucky. :p
It's in a court reporting firm.
Starting at $9 an hour for 8 hours a day, all I do is convert transcripts into a different format and print them out.
That is it.
It beats the hell out of babysitting of less than $2 an hour per kid.
I'm nice. :(

I found this on another horror board and tried it out, I'd like to work at this place though, looks like a spam but they did send me a number to use for a paid subscription:
www.reeltime.com
'go there and just check it out-theres lots of stuff worthy of watching on there-THEN if you want to try it but dont want to PAY-they are having a promotional 3 month membership-just email this address:
[email protected]
and ask for the 'ReelCash promo number' and they will send you a number to enter when you sign up-you'll get a paid 3 month subscription and what you do after that is up to you-no hassle. I've done it but it doesnt work on my mac just PCs so I had to go to a friends computer to use it.'
i work at a video store. i just stay there to rent free movies.
