I don't remember exactly what I googled, but anything to do with horror and this place is the first thing that pops up.
I remember looking around for a good half-an-hour.
I don't like joining too many things.
Had to be sure that I'd remember it.
Glad I did.
You guys are my second family.

Horror personally emailed me and begged me to post here. I'm a top quality poster and being pretty in demand forum-wise at the time, I almost turned him down... but he paid me handsomely.

that is EXACTLY what happened.

It's quite simple, really:

I got into horror, I was online, I tried www.horror.com, and this is what came up.

I had been on some message boards that were fun but sort of uptight and/or boring, and I wanted to find a message board that was a little bit whackier so I tried horror.com and I have been very upset about it ever since.

Well I always like typing some random word & putting .com after it. It was a few years ago, a litle bit before or after halloween. I just thought"hmm wonder where horror.com would take me" And here I am. I never thought I would have stuck around.

I was looking for a movie for a friend. Haven't seen the friends in a couple of years now... probably because I couldn't find the movie. People here irritated me enough for me to want to stay and make their time here a living (cyber) hell.

well, i had stumbled across it many times when I was searching the web but one day, after another random conversation on www.comingsoon.net/forums with XtRaVa, he sent me a PM telling me about this website and that I might like it. I started off on the picture thread, that one with over 60 pages, then moved to a few others and now, I'm closing in on the 1000 mark.

I was looking for a website domain to purchase, and I tried horror.com, which lead me to this nightmarish world. I'm glad I did too, the people here are very down to earth, and really easy to get along with.

I joined to find out who it was that gave a positive review of Boogeyman, but I was also hoping to get some fan-based research for a book on the genre, its fan appeal and the history of moral fiction.

No not that one, but the obscure horror film titles and the Top 100. They are two compilations which are great for any true fan of the horror genre to dig them out and watch them. Fascinating lists, both of them.

Two of the best resources I've seen at a movie site let alone a simple forum thread.

I remember it well, actually.
I was bored one night, so I Googled "horror forum". I had never been part of a forum before, and decided to try it. A horror forum was the only possible forum I could see myself staying interested in.
I did my noob post, then got busy and forgot about the forums. Every once in a while I'd remember that I signed up, sign in, lurk, and then forget about it again. Then towards the end of last summer I decided to post regularly and haven't stopped since.

i was probably looking for info on a movie ..

or i could have googled horror forums.

i do remember thinking the place was stupid as hell at the time .. there was some kind of moderator war taking place at the time... people making assholes out of themselves.

so basically - kind of like it still is now every couple of months during retard migrating season.
