More often than not when I am in a hurry I get stuck in a jam. It sucks to live in the urban jungle of California where traffic is a nuisance. How many times have I run into signals which turn red everytime I wanna pass it? Grrr...
Advice comes from all quarters as to the exact speed to drive. Some say drive slow and steady, others say drive fast. I own a Chevy Cavalier and drive pretty much steadily. But it doesnt help because more than often I turn up late at my destinations.:o Sometimes I wish my car could fly, like the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car.:p
What say, guys? What do you drive, and how fast do you manage in the city you live in?

I own a Suzuki Swift, and I am pretty comfortable driving around in the city I live in. It has nice wide roads and not much traffic, except on Sundays when its a holiday and all sorts of people flock to the markets for shopping. My speed is around the 35-40 kph mark, and I am a pretty confident driver.:)

I have a Ford Explorer...And a Hearse. My town is very small in size, but over a 50,000 population. It takes upwards of 45-60 minutes to get through about a mile and a half of town at some times of the day.
Sucks very much.

I think those that strive for higher speeds in heavy populated areas are inevitably going to cause, or receive some grief.

My fun car is a 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi. Had it up to 112 mph on the local freeway here. Daily driver is a Chevy Trailblazer. Usually set the cruise to 75 on my way back and forth to work, which gets me door to door in 20-22 minutes for a 17.8 mile one-way drive.

I drive a Pontiac Gran Prix and usually go very fast no matter where I drive.I have this thing were I have to be the leader of the pack or I ain't happy, unless the person in front of me is going way faster than me.Which usually doesn't happen very often.

you me my nova your ferrari 500 bucks ! what do you say ?
Uh, I say no. Though actually, I am thinking of selling it and buying some land. We'll see. The land I want isn't officially for sale so I keep pestering the owners to sell. Just asked them again after leaving them alone for the last 2 years.

I haven't driven in a long time. I gave it up when I moved to Seattle. Too much money. The bus, a taxi or my hooves get me where I need to go just fine.
The funny thing is, when I tell people I don't have a liscence, they automatically assume it's because of a DWI. I actually have a great driving record. Only one speeding ticket.

I drive a 5 spd. 96 sunfire, let me tell you when I have to travel into pittsburgh that is not very fun. Here get the idea: clutch, gas, break. clutch, gas break, that goes on nonstop. By the time (half-hour 2 fourty-five minutes, just to get 2 miles)I get through the tunnels into the city my left foot is about to fall off from using the clutch so much. I like to just stick with the flow of the traffic in the city, don't be an idiot, too many pedestrians, and vehicles to allow stupidity driving.
Edit: I normally leave about hour-n-half or two hours early, if it's game day forget about it! You will be waiting hour or two just to get through tunnels!

I say you're a fucking menace. HAVE to run red lights? That's bullshit. I live in LA and that's the kind of shit that causes the gridlock that increases the traffic congestion . You are absolutely part of the problem.
Leave earlier, take your time. Traffic will always be there. Pretending it won't is delusional.

I think you better re-read what I posted, Rod. I said run into red lights, that means I have to stop everytime the signal turns red. Besides I said I am always around the 35-40 mark and eventually turn up late, so that does give a hint doesnt it?
Slow drivers like me part of the problem? I think not, cuz I have no speeding tickets yet. Yes, none. My suggestion, better re-read the post.

No problemo.:p
What would happen if drivers like me got ticketed for driving slow? That would cause quite some stir.:o
