Dead Alive it is... although I admit I haven't seen one or two of these.

did you see men behind the sun ?

Yeah... they keep peeking out from behind it and watching me...

wait, is that a movie title? Then, no.

Kichiku Dai Enkai or maybe Suicide Circle

The STE

"Set in 1970s Japan and often interpreted as a critical depiction of the student political scene of that time, Kichiku Dai Enkai depicts a radical leftist group whose charismatic leader, Aizawa, has been put in prison. His girlfriend Masami takes over, but is considerably less effective in maintaining the group's cohesion. This has been called the most violent movie ever made, but it's an arthouse favorite."

Braindead is the goriest movie ever. there is no contest. no poll needed. it is the goriest movie ever made, nothing can rival it, and chances are nothing will ever come close in the future. the next goriest movie after that is Premutos: Lord Of The Living Dead, which still barely even scratches the surface of Braindead.
enough with these contests. this is the answer. take it from a man who knows his gore.

And Why the hell are Irrevesible and Sin City on that list?

Dead Alive, hands down.

I m with moth as to why Irreversible and Sin City made it into that list.
For the violent rape and death by fire extinguisher in the former? And the violent action in the other?

There wasnt much or any gore in either of em to give the others listed a run for their money.

sounds a bit like porn...but yes its a very dark japanese film and very down beat .

I thought Men Behind the Sun was Chinese/Hong Kong?

I swear if this is another ploy for the 'Murder-Set-Pieces' spammers to go another year on another board about how the "director's cut" really needs to be seen (and purcheased !) for the film to be appreciated....

And Why the hell are Irrevesible and Sin City on that list?

sorry. like i said, this poll stems from an existing thread and these were the movies that seemed to be pin pointed as the best for gore. to be honest i've seen neither but i have heard that irreversible is quite disturbing.

Sure Braindead is a gorefest, but it's also a goof. Don't get me wrong I love the film, but the gore isn't impactful in any other way than it induces laughter.

The Passion of the Christ may be the most gleefully sadistic and relentlessly gory film I've seen.

Ichi the killer would've fitted in nicely on that poll list.

But yeah, Dead Alive takes the price. :)

great one man ! are you going to see grindhouse ?

I'm 14. Not just that but i'm also a very small, young looking 14 year old. Grindhouse is what? 15 or 18? I'm gonna have to wait until it comes on DVD or Sky
