YEAH. My parents go out of town and leave me with my dumb FUCK grandmother (she lives with us, sadly). I HATE her, she never shuts the FUCK up!!! She lives on our ground floor, which is why I stay UPSTAIRS ALL DAY, because she's so fucking STUPID. She NEVER does ANYTHING and she complains about EVERYTHING. She's been BITCHING all FUCKING day about the STUPID FUCKING temperature being TOO FUCKING cold for her and forcing me to fix the FUCKING thermostat that WON'T FIX!!! She keeps calling me in her scratchy annoying as FUCK voice to tell me, even though everyone FUCKIN KNOWS, that it's COLD. get the FUCK OVER IT!

i must say that i agree with you totally. old people do fucking suck, except for a couple out there. but, yeah, my stepdad's mother used to live with us til we got so sick of her shit my mother said "either she goes of i do". she is the devil rein-fucking-carnated. she used to yell at me cause i didn't do the dishes right. this was something i never figured out....

i am doing the dishes, if they are getting done, and they're clean...WHAT IS THE FUCKING PROBLEM?

If the thermocouple fails it basically just reads the pilot as out and won't open the gas valve. Probably the single most common furnace failing and is quickly/cheaply (under $10.00) fixed.

My grandma was the exact opposite. She really really didn't want to be a burden to anybody, but it was to the point where THAT was annoying. Like, when my parents left I was at home to take care of her (she couldn't be left alone in the house for very long at a time) and obviously had to eat, so I'd ask what she wanted, and she'd never give an actual answer. You had to say "I'm going to fix you a can of vegitable soup, okay?" and she'd say it was fine, but if asked, she'd just say not to worry about it. I appreciated the thought, but the trouble of opening a can and pushing "soup" on the microwave doesn't much tip the scale against "cancer-ridden diabetic grandma not getting food," I'm going to fix you food, I thought I'd give you some say in what you eat, meet me half-way here.


I don't mind the old people as a whole so much. It's those young people that can go fuck themselves. Children are the worst.

You should never hate old people, especially if they are a part of your own family. They have gone through tough times to bring us (or our Dads and Moms) up, and now when they grow old and frail, and their body is slowly weakening and shrivelling up, they need someone's support to lean on.
I have seen my maternal grandfather shut himself out of the world once he retired from public service, and keep to himself till his death 10 years back. He was given a bed near the bathroom by my maternal uncle who did not want to take care of him, but was ready to grab his retirement pension money. The guy who saved enough to marry off 5 daughters and secure the future of his 2 sons, spent the rest of his days inhaling fumes from his younger son's bathroom, and staying quiet. He ate whatever was given to him, prayed, and slept. And when he died, there wasnt much fuss either.
Just remember, old people were actually us once. Those guys were young and full of life too, like us. Someday we will grow old also, and when our body starts behaving erratically, and the problems dont solve themselves, we also grow a habit of being irritated at the smallest of things. Our children and grandchildren will be annoyed with us then. "Future is a mirror of thy's present", so even if they are irritating, annoying, pestering etc. etc., they deserve our attention and our love. You give it, so you will get it.

When family members visited..out came the aches and pains..the ailments..the walking stick..the complaints.

yeah..some old ppl are like that.
I get on reasonably well with elders..in face more than i do with the youngun's.
I like to listen to them talk about thier youth etc.
The grumpy ones i just totally ignore.
