Anyone have any idea if it's supposed to be close to the original at all? I absolutely LOVE the origianal one (it's the reason I can't go in elevators anymore) and I'm curious about the remake. I heard that they were making in a few years ago, but I haven't heard anything about it since.

What year was the original? I would like to see it. Seen a bit about The Eye 2002 that seemed interesting. Will keep looking.

This remake is one of those that does not need to happen. The original is so good, love that movie! I'm betting they are going to shove some WB teenybopper in it or one of the 3 names (Jennifer Love Hewitt, et al.), hell, maybe the Olsen twins. Won't that just improve on a classic.

The 2002 is the original. It's subtitled. Great movie!

I actually just looked it up on IMDB. It's Jessica Beil they're using (UGH!! X.X THEY'RE GOING TO KILL IT!)

They always kill J-horror when they remake it for US audiences. Have they attached a director yet?

hi i saw the original years ago and the EYE2 not too long ago i seem to remember that Tom Cruse had bought the rights( i had put it in a J horror post) .....Oh no imagine Katie Holmes squinting and gasping like she always does through the whole film

It's actually not that bad. I watched it a couple of months ago not knowing what it was. The only thing was that my favorite part wasn't actually in it (or not in it as good it was in the original, or something like that cause I can't remember it...it was the elevator scene btw, I haven't been in an inclosed elevator in over a year because of that...that doesn't include glass elevators, I can do those).
