I just got back from from this and I am very disappointed. I wasn't expecting much but I was expecting a little more than this. It wasn't trash Ill give it that, but thats about it. It doesn't even closely compare to the original Hills Have Eyes or even the Hills Have Eyes remake. I thought the remake was fantastic but this just didn't cut it for me. It was a decent movie, but I suggest you wait until the DVD.

Is it better than the original Hills Have Eyes 2?

Haven't seen this sequel yet but I'm planning to as soon as possible. In the trailer one particular thing disappointed me - the main characters have been given firearms! What a stupid idea... The first remake was great because it deeply portrayed how cold-blooded one can get when having his family murdered right before his eyes. Remember how Doug used an axe to gorily take out Cyst?
Firearms gives such a stupid action movie effect which this particular film doesn't really need.
I enjoyed watching the characters trying to survive without any good weaponry in the first part, but shooting the mutants wouldn't be as fun. But I shall keep my hopes high.. I am going for the gore anyway! :D

This movie is bad.
it's worse than trash.
it has no redeeming qualities.
the characters sucked.
the death scenes werent that good.
boo on this movie.
At least someone agrees with me. It wasn't as bad as you made it sound though. Yes, the movie was utter trash but I do think it was a little better than the original sequel. I do agree with you, the deah scenes did suck and the blood and gore was pathetic. There was one death that I liked but that was about it. The movie is a complete disappointment

boo on this movie.
If by saying this you're implying that Boo could possibly be better than THHE II, or if the above statement gives any positive credits to the aforementioned movie, then I will have to be skeptical of your movie critiques for a standard period of time.
Regardless, my little sister has piss poor taste in movies and she's off to see it tonight. If she comes back with a positive review I'll know to avoid it.

Whereas most bad horror movies have the redeeming quality of being outrageously funny, this one didn't. There was zero character development. You couldn't connect with any of them at any point in the story, so all you were left with was waiting for the next death scene. And even then, the death scenes were unimaginitive and predictable. It was better than the original HHE2, sure. But that says nothing.
Even if your little sister hates this and it compels you to go watch it, I assure you that you will regret it. I feel pissed off about seeing it for -free-.
That bad, huh? Could you possibly give me a comparison to other modern movies so I know what to expect?

Thanks for the heads up. I thought it would suck. Alexandre Aja had nothing to do with the film. I actually liked the HHE remake.
I will rent it to see how much I hate it.

Ya, the second I saw that Alexandre Aja was not doing this film I knew it was going to suck. And Martin Weisz? Who the hell is that.
