Since people are still fighting a bit back and forth I figured I would offer my explination of the internet... using an edited picture that isn't mine.

I always thought this summed things up at my old board:

That picture really does fit this forum fairly well. Sad but true. And yet, I've been involved with a number of forums on other topics that have never been even remotely like this. It is tempting to say that the difference must be due to moderation, but I'm not sure that this is the only difference.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in the picture calling the guy a "Fuckwad" and having him saying "Shitcock"? Seems as though "Fuckwad" isn't much better than "Shitcock," which kinda cuts the legs out from under the picture a bit.

Why does it cut the legs out from under the picture? The guy is a total fuckwad, so he says stupid things. Like 'shitcock'.

"You're a fuckwad for saying stupid things like "shitcock"!"

Isn't "fuckwad" a stupid thing like "shitcock"?

I think if you're pointing that insult at a deserving person it's fine. Sure, it's not a brilliantly constructed attack but it cuts right to the chase and makes an unmistakable point.

I guess it's my fault for thinking too much.

Trust me, we need all the thinking we can get. At least to help make up for the lack of it in other places...
