Does anyone remember the movie...?

Hopefully someone will remember this movie. I saw it as a child and it freaked me out. I believe it was filmed in the seventies. Kind of a Karen Black "B" movie, but I don't think she was in it.

It was about tiny monsters that lived under chimney or it could have been the staircase and snuck out at night thru the floorboards of the house and attacked the residents. I do remember a bathroom scene where the mother I believe was holding onto the towel rack as the little monsters dragged her under the floorboards. Also the monsters whispered eerily to eachother at night.

If the movie you are talking about involves the kid killing a monster with a model rocket then this is it.

No, the Gate had little monsters, but there was no dragging into the floorboards. The monster dragged the one kid into the walls, though.

I've never seen it but someone posted something about it recently - I think it's called "Don't look in the basement." I'm pretty sure it's on one of those Brentwood 10 disc sets.

The movie was Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973)! I highly recommend it!!
