A simple look around the forum would have told you where to post the thread. A simple search would have shown that VampireClown already had a thread on the same topic. Lastly, bagging on someone because they liked a movie you didn't is childish, immature and mentally retarded. We as individuals have different tastes. We all cannot be as refined as you trick. I figure you as someone who enjoy true terror. Is Spice World your favorite scary movie?

Scream may have been the origin of a lot of other sucky movies, but that doesn't mean that Scream itself is bad. I found it a rather enjoyable watch.

While not on my top 20 list of horror movies, Scream was a fresh look at horror. It made fun of itself. Not something I would buy but I do watch it whenever it is on TV.

Scream was not even close to Halloween. Scream was a new direction in the genre. It was not the typical teen slasher flick that was seen up until that time.

i know what your trying to say and halloween probably was the wrong thing to compare scream to

No hard feelings.
Scream was made to be made fun of, purposely. It's amazing in the fact that it knows it's own flaws, unlike Friday films or other cheesy horrors. Its slick and sophisticated in the way that it made itself stupid. It's a paradox of defining horror.

Friday the 13th ws doing that long before Scream came around, starting with Part VI: Jason Lives in '86. Scream did it WAY better, but it sure wasnt the first. (I doubt that Jason Lives was the first either, but it was the first that came to mind)

I would say Slumber Party Massacre did it as well, though I don't think they did it on purpose.

Alright. That's it. I got over it before, because I didn't want to sound like the biggest assclown ever. But if you're going to act like anyone who has a different opinion is stupid, then you're going to be screwed pretty soon. Clean up.

This coming from the guy who says having an opinion on a forum of discussion is pompous.
Look, put everything we disagreed about in a box and hurl it off a bridge. It's fun to do, and it's behind us anyway, just forget it.

Land didn't suck, it was merely a decent zombie flick in a great series. Compared to most zombie fare Land was top notch. Anyhoo, I like the series in the order they were released. There was JUST a thread for this in modern movies, instead of making one there dig that one up.
