You know Hollywood is really going down the tubes when they start remaking remakes...I was hoping House of Wax would be the last re-remake, but Noooo.

Geez....Why Cage? I can't stand him as an actor!

Seriously.

I can see this remake being a disaster...

Cage can barely act, let alone be talented enough to be Seth...

Yet another film I'll have to boycott... :(

Don't you guys understand anything about filmaking?
When they do the Seth / fly transformation where he's falling to bits quite literally, all Cage has to do is whip off that atrocious Elton john stylee hair piece & hey presto! Saved the SFX men a fucking fortune!

I don't see how they could make the Fly gooier or more exciting than the Cronenberg version. I think watching Nicholas Cage become less human is redundant.

I'm with you on that one. But if he keeps on taking these parts - Wicker Man, The Fly, at least he's building a reputation as 'that actor that's in all the crap remakes' and maybe they can all be lumped together and thrown on the fire.

It still doesn't come close to the audacity of Steve Martin as Clouseau, though. Bastard!

Cage is a good actor when he wants to be. He was excellent in Face Off.

as for a Fly remake, i think thats retarded.

This must be some sort of joke surely?

After disasters in Wicker Man and Ghost Rider, Cage should have learnt his lesson and stuck to some originality. But he's on a shitride of his career, and its downhill. Fast.

This one will be pathetic. And sucky.

I don't know what to say about this besides the fact that Nick Cage is pretty much a dildo. I loved him in The Weatherman (great, funny, underrated movie) and in Raising Arizona (one of my personal faves), but besides that...dildo.

and in Raising Arizona

The only movie I've ever liked with Cage...

Have you seen The Weatherman? It really was good, and funny as hell.

Nope... there are very few movies I'll watch for comedy... I'm a hard one to entertain. I'll check it out though. I've got nothing better to do.

You should watch it. It's not an average "comedy", the humor is a bit more offbeat. I loved it.

As much as I hate Cage as an actor, at least they didn't pick Keanu Reeves.

The wickerman was one of biggest piles I've ever seen. Ghost Rider was ok but not great. This remake of the Fly might not all that bad but it also might not be all that great either.

And meanwhile there are a thousand great original screenplays out there that agents won't even read... Kinda makes me want to quit writing.

Im a HUGE Vincent Price fan, but you have to admit: He didnt really do much in The Fly. The Cronenberg version with Jeff Goldblum was twice as good.

Now if they were thinking of remaking Dr. Phibes or Pit and the Pendulum...that would be another story all together.

On a related note i read today that David Cronenberg is looking to produce an Opera based on The Fly,now that would be worth watching!

In all honesty, Cage wouldnt be awful casting in a Pit and the Pendulum remake. Not in the Price role of course, but he could do a decent job as Leon or Francis.
