i'm sick of the same old churned out money making movies that hollywood continues to sell us and we eat it up no questions asked. i demand more for my hard earned $10 than a crappy movie going experience over priced tickets for a sub par movie w/ talentless half whits who get paid big bucks to parade around like they're miss america. c'mon, ppl...wake up. how many times has tcm been made and remade? and this year will be worse than last w/ all of our favorites, classic horror films being remade. what the hell?! hostel--did there need to be another one, really? i mean last year...the last several it's been nothing but a series of wrong turn type movies..some, granted, were better than others but can't anyone come up w/ something better or more original?

I think you've pretty much said everything that needs to be said.

I'm working on it.
But the familiar makes money. Movies cost a lot money to make. The theaters show what the market dictates...and writers/directors being original have to sell their ideas under the guise of some other hit in order to make sense to the person with the money who will let you make a movie.
That's how it goes. Unless you can keep 15-18 year-old boys from going to see Boogyman2 or TCM the Beginning, you'll be seeing even more of these kind of flicks.
What you can do is go to the good ones in the theater. All of them. Support Indie Horror like HATCHET or BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON or DAMNED ;)
Go see the cool foriegn horror in the theater like PAN'S LABYRINTH and you will be rewarded with more of them in the theater
Money decides what you see. Spend it the right way...go to the theater for the original ideas and save the sequels/remakes for the DVD rental.

I'm one of those ppl who doesnt mind remakes and sequels. I think everything should be updated for the new generations so that the originals can remain remembered and respected. For instance, I'm actually looking forward to the remake of the Wolfman. Not a Del Toro fan but I think he can pull it off.
Yah, he looks kinda wolfy-like anyway. I think it'll be good.
Hee-hee, he played "Duke The Dog Faced Boy" in Big Top Pee-wee in 1988, http://www.beniciodeltoro.com/images/films/bigtop/bigtop1.htm

I found the solution many years ago....don't go to the theatre to see any of this crap....don't buy any of the DVDs.
It's called capitalism....you might have heard about it.
