Breaking your toe has nothing to do with whether or not your old.

When I was seventeen, I got up in the middle of the night and walked right into the door jam (the lights were out obviously) and broke my pinky toe.

I just think that the longer you're alive, the more chances you have to hurt yourself. :D

Thats gotta hurt....not much they can do for a toe.Just kick back and put your feet up this weekend and watch movies.:D

and for cripes sake.....have a couple of beers.

It keeps the bones strong.

I feel for you. I'm a clutz and have broken several toes...it sucks. There's nothing you can do but grit your teeth and walk silly. Smashed the left pinky toe Thanksgiving morning and it's still swollen.

Yikes! That had to hurt like hell! I've cracked my ribs once at a concert, oh and got my front teeth knocked out at a GWAR concert. Never really broke anything. I'm suprised though, it must be all the milk and beer I drink. :)

I stubbed my toe pretty hard a few days ago, but you know I'm not an old person so I was perfectly fine after. :D

I think anyone could have broken their toe in the way that you did though, I mean wedged between bricks? (or something solid anyway) I don't think you have to worry about falling and needing a fake hip yet. :p

i slammed my other foot 3 times in a row one day - all on the baby toe .. hurt like a bitch (more progressively each time) but it sure didnt break.

this one suprised the hell out of me.

i took my sock off at work today - deep purple ... think i'll hit a walk in clinic for x-rays tomorrow :o

i'm 32(almost) and i have already started to notice that the healing process is starting to slow down, the last time i stubbed a toe it took months before it felt right again and i hadn't even broken it.Also hangovers seem to get more nasty as you get older.

I've had turf toe like 5 times, all the doctors ever said was stay off it 'cause there's not much you can do about a toe.

well, the good thing is that unless you're playing peach volleyball (or another jumping sport) you dont move your toes that much ..

it sure feels better elevated though

How's that good? I thought that was your game.

More fodder for you punk asses who like to give me the gears for being of an advance age.

I used to proudly state that every strain or break I've ever gotten in my life was sports related.

until today.

I used to laugh at people who broke or sprained shit when they fell, etc.

until today.

this morning I was walking around the corner in my house when i somehow smashed my foot into the bottom corner where two walls meet .. and i believe i broke my toe.

I heard a crack at the time (though it was like when you make your knuckles crack) I'm pretty sure it was a real crack now. I can feel my god damn foot swelling up in my show and the pain isnt letting up at all.

this is just god damn great.

i guess my hips are next. stupid old bastard.

you old fucker

I got called Miss instead of Ma'am at the store the other day. I could have just kissed the clerk, but I figured that would have just scared the hell out of him, so I behaved.

About the toe thing, I broke the same toe twice, years apart. It's a little crooked now.

No fair I always get called ma'am, people are quickly corrected. However its just guys trying to sound posh we don't say miss or ma'am much here.

The only bone I have ever broken was my toe. Always getting bruises from walking into stuff and forgetting limbs. I closed my finger in a car door once I thought I had lost my whole finger but it was just bruised.

I got asked for ID when I was in San Francisco a couple of years ago. That made me feel a whole lot younger!

36, and still not yet broken a bone (unless you count my brother's collarbone when we were kids)! I'm forever doing the toe thing, though.

One thing did make me feel really old recently. You know when old people say 'I had a fall', well I had an 'old person's fall' about a month ago. I was walking along thstreet, tried to turn a corner and stepped on the side of my foot. I took a couple of seconds, but I was resigned to the inevitability of the fall. There was nothing I could do about it, and it must have looked so ungainly!

Put a nasty scuff on my favourite jacket as well!

I've broken 2 toes about 2-3 times each. I have horses though and it came from one in paticular stepping on it multiple times.

I also broke my arm when I was little by falling off of a foot stool. lol

And no, it's not that I'm not drinking enoug milk.

The scary thing is, is how seamless the transaction from young to older happened for me. Just setting around with my mates, having brews. All of the sudden one day, we stopped talking about loose women and partying & started talking about tax breaks and sales at the grocery. It was really alarming when we'd realized what happened.

Is it true when I turn 30 that I'll want to start wearing tassled shoes?

I'm in my fortys but my mind is still in its twentys. Just wish the body was as well. Some mornings you wake up and feel like you've been beat with baseball bats while you slept.

hmmmm....maybe I should take the bat away from the wifes side of the bed.

or start giving her more money !

i feel like a kid inside too ... so much i feel that maybe they're something wrong with me .. that i really should be acting like some stiff shirted dick ..

but most of the time i think ... fuck that.
Yeah, I'm still waiting for my card to come in the mail (inside joke)...I'm not sure when you're supposed to start feeling and acting older...I wonder when people start yelling at kids to "Stay outta my yard!"...hmm...I guess it happens when you feel compelled to buy that first pair of polyester stretch pants...I'm pretty sure I'm still WAY off from that one...
