Okay, for starters, the rules: keep pictures to a minimum or non existant. if you have something really awful you want people to see, make a link, and add a warning.

Second, we all already know all about the awfulness of child molestation, murder, rape, etc, so lets try to keep it to bizarre and rare things, like diseases, weird bugs, stuff like that.

Okay, here are some interesting things i have stumbled across:

necrotizing fasciitis: AKA, Flesh Eating Bacteria. You actually rot while you are alive. i heard a terrible story this monring about a woman who gave birth to a baby, then somehow contracted this (or something similar) in all four limbs, which were amputated. AND, the hospital told her she has to sue them if she wants to know WHY.

Rotting Necrosis: Similar to the last one, but caused by the bite of a Brown Recluse. Cells start dying as a result of the bite, and "infection" spreads. doctors have yet to be able to stop it once it starts, and entire sections of flesh need to be removed to prevent the spread. Basically, once affected by the necrosis, the flesh has to be removed and then some, otherwise it will just continue. There, a REAL reason to fear spiders.

Human Botfly: I have an article on this on my site. Imagine a big fat bumble bee sized fly that lays eggs on other flies, who then accidentally drop a maggot on you that burrows into your skin and feeds off you until it is grown enough to dig back out.

my aunty recently died from this..
the smell was terrible..
her skin would actually just fall off her body literally as would bits of her flesh..
not to mention she had no control of her bladder because of this or her bowel functions.
The doctors over here had no known cure for this..so she literally passed away with rotting bits of flesh all over her..and she had to be buried immediately as the undertakers refused to embalm her.
Can you blame them though..?

Diabetes can cause bits 'n peices to go black and fall off...I always wondered what that would feel like, to just be able to slowly twist your own crumbling black toe off...or maybe bumping it against something and just seeing it aint there anymore...

Speaking of diabetes...there's some fucking horrifying amounts of sugar in damn near almost all sodas.

Hemorraghic Fever - (ebola virus is one of these) - quite literally liquifies your insides cause you to "bleed" through eyes, nose, mouth, ears, anus and urethra. But it isn't really blood, it's your liquifying and necrotized tissue.

Unusual form of cancer eats through the top portion of his skull and scalp, doesn't seek medical attention. Those are maggots in there, do I really need an official warning? :)

No, leprosy is a disease that affects nerves skin and mucous membranes. the old "limbs falling off" thing was a result of people not being able to feel when they had injured themselves (it causes loss of feeling and paralysis), and then THTA getting infected.

An interesting fact i stumbled on years ago. Armadillos are one of the few creatures outside of humans that can contract leprosy.
