I just had this random thought come into my head as i was eating my muffin bar. It was thisbit from "The Never Ending Story" where the kid is eating some cake or goes to, but then he put's it down and says "No, there's still a long way to go". Not very interesting but very random.

Give me some more random Movie moments! Now!

The dream sequence from Big Lebowski is fairly random, as is a lot of the movie itself.

I love the Big Lebowski! It's one of my favorite films of all time!

That scene in George Pal's "The Time Machine" where he says "But I stopped too fast!" and the machine starts spinning around really fast and he is thrown off it and there is a sudden unexplained shower of hail, or something. But it's not hail, it looks like little chunks of dry ice. And it falls only in the immediate area, as if...maybe? time was temporarily scrambled or blurred in the vicinity of the machine.

I loved this bit because it's just a weird scene and the movie makes no attempt to explain any little details. You see it and think "Ah...well, okay then!"

i love and hate but mostly love when films make you just go wow and what just happened in an unexplained way.....i love it if its a film i love....you just accept the unexplained

Yeah. I think at that point, a film starts being "real." You not only accept the unexplained things, but you begin to feel they resemble reality and all the unexplained events you see in your daily life. Life becomes a phenomenon of continuous creativity...always a new thing happening, always a new, fresh combination of elements. When a movie achieves that level, when things happen that are undefined but you don't seek an explanation, I think it's become a really good movie. The story succeeds in creating a sense of wonder.
