I know I can speak for myself here and hopefully for Austin, at least the first three words of the next sentence. Fuck the Bears, they fucking blow, they've blown all year. They've had half their wins donated to them like some fucking homeless beggar getting my sandwich rind. Yes their D and S.T. are amazing, but a team with that poor of an offense has no business being in the Superbowl. Yes they are there, so my opinion is irrelevant, but that's just fucking terrible. Rexy is probably the worst QB to make a superbowl since Dilfer, for he's there for alot of the same reasons. Difference is that Dilfer got a ring and the Bears will not. Check the dynasty in 2 weeks and 2 hours for a 4th title this decade, IMO.

Hurricane Katrina. 3-13 last season with no home games. Rookie year. NFC Championship game. 88 yards for a TD with a juke to make the last defender look like the rookie. Are you trying to tell me that you wouldn't do a fucking somersault?
P.S. It was more of a tumble if you ask me. ;)

Nothing wrong with being a arrogant, cocky sob as long as it's done between the lines and whistles.

Okay so the Bears got half their wins donated to them is your theory. How so? Defense and special teams are a part of the game man and they TOOK those wins, literaly. Last I checked they led the league in take aways and Devin Hester worked for all of his returns. Dude shouda been no. 2 for ROY (there is no taking it away from VY). As far as our offense, the Bears running game is the most underated in the league, period. They can power run with Benson and Thomas Jones is the best back in the league no one talks about. He can do it all and if he hadn't toiled in Arizona the first 3 years of his career he would be one of the top 5 backs in the NFL according to everyone.
Now onto Rex. I am not defending the kid, lord knows I was one of the most frustrated fans in all of America with him. But he came through big today when it mattered most, oh and he did it last week also as I remember. He throws the prettiest deep ball and had some really great games (7 with passer ratings over 100). He is young, cocky and brash, but also tough and confident. Reminds me of another Bears QB who won the Super Bowl and didn't get enough run for his role that season.
The Bears are there and they deserve as much as if not more than any other team. The worked for it and pushed through injuries that other teams would have folded under, I mean they lost two of, if not there two best defenders this season and still made. So you go on thinking they don't deserve to be there, just like everyone else thought this week. We'll take it and walk away happy.

Rex Grossman locks on recievers, doesn't go through his progressions, bad foot work more often than not, he's just not that good. He started off on fire but once the league figured him out he's been horrible and he wasn't any better today. I give the Bears their props but let it be known that Rex Grossman didn't beat the Saints and hasn't proven a thing.
Also, Brown and Harris aren't even on the same level as Brian Urlaucher, couldn't help but to clear that up.

Okay on the first part those are mechanical things that can be fixed, he does tend to bird dog recievers a bit but he usually get it's to them. Oh and locking onto recievers and not going through progressions are the same thing. Bad foot work? What are you watching? Just like any QB with the blitz in their face he gets happy feet, I think everyone is forgetting this is his first full year as a starter. So he knows the offense but isn't as used to game speed as others. But funny, for being so bad he sure played a much better game than the heralded Drew Brees. Hmmm...and if you dispute that then you weren't watching the game you are just reading press clippings.
And I don't know how you can say Brown and Harris aren't on the same level as Urlacher. I am a huge Urlacher fan and I even have said he is the most gifted athlete in the league. But he doesn't shed blockers that well and he somteimes will wait for the hit rather than deliver it each play. Just because he plays the recognition position doesn't mean he is the best. It is debatable if he is the best LB on the team, much less best defensive player on the team. Brown is the best player in the secondary and Harris is our best DL, so there losses are just as much of a blow as if we lost Urlacher.

Actually, you can lock on a reciever and still go through your progressions so no, it's not the same thing.
As far as him playing good today, if you call one drive in which he threw 3 passes to the sideline with 5 yard windows and one bad pass up for grabs when he was about to be sacked playing good, then yeah, I guess he did.
Brian Urlaucher doesn't come off blocks, sits back and waits instead of delivering? Are you completely smacked outta your head? Hey, everybody's got their opinions and you're more then entitled to yours so whatever the fuck ever.
You're praising Rex Grossman and saying Urlaucher's the most gifted athlete in the league ect. So I'll just assume you're one of those fans that seriously over do it and 'll never say a bad thing about their team or anybody on it so once again...whatever the fuck ever.

I could have sworn that I said some bad things about the team. I.E. Rex needs more expericence, Urlacher doesn't come off blocks very well(although he has gotten better at it in this system), I can point out others. We don't do very well against the run. I can say bad things, but when people say we don't deserve to be there? You're right, whatever the fuck ever.

I'll never say that! I don't care what team it is, how they got there, who they played ect. ect. If you get to the Super Bowl, you deserve to be there, bottom line no exceptions.
You're right, you threw some bad points in there, it seems you're one of the few honest fans out there I just disagree with a bit of what you're saying. Urlaucher's one of the three best linebackers in the league so I'll have to strongly disagree there, other than that I guess you'll have to excuse any harshness I let out at the moment. I'm just disappointed and really just flat out heart broken right now, sure you can understand that.

There's nothing to be disappointed about, they had a great year, and they have a huge window. Even though it didn't get them today, more speed on the defense, improving the kicking game, and this learning experience should add up to at least a couple more chances at the Superbowl.

First rebuilding year gets an NFC championship oppurtunity, good young core led by a great QB in his prime and a damn good coach...can't help but to feel great about the future and it was a great season. That said, one step away from a Super Bowl still hurts pretty bad at the moment but knowing we've gotta contender in the coming years in New Orleans 'll ease the pain soon enough.
I'm from New England and just watched the Pats fuck up an 18 point lead. Oh well....no skin off my back. GO COLTS

Great game, just watched it myself. Couldn't have asked for a more exciting game. What a comeback!
This should be a fun Superbowl, though I'm scared shitless to see Rex face Manning for it.
Good luck, newb. We shall see...

The Bears, congrats on winning, they are going to win the Superbowl and shut down the Colts offense, Thomas is good, and Rex has had the most great games and the most bad games, there is no in between so if he is great they will win, if he is bad, they will lose, i put this game on him because the defense will play great, can he score enough to give them the win, can he come up clutch like Brady? thats what he needs to do to win

If a particular situation warranted it, wouldn't you go emo about things of the culinary sort? Sports is no different, more or less important than anything else someone's passionate about.

Did you see that last drive against the Pats? That's the Manning who's showing up Sunday, Super Bowls bring the best out of players like Jake Delhomme and Deion Branch amoung others. Imagine what it's going to bring out of Peyton Manning.
Spec7ral
01-30-2007, 11:25 PM
Jake Delhomme also did alot to carry his team to the game. I don't really remember Branch being a star the entire playoffs but, granted, he was fucking stellar in the big game when needed.
Manning was fucking terrible against KC: 1 TD 3 INTS. The week after he goes 0 TDs 2 INTs. Now, even though I hate to admit it, they did weather the storm and make out with an amazing win against Brady and the boys. That game was the most heated and animated I have been watching a game all year, and I'm a fucking vikings fan (the last time I got that heated was the game that ended a half hour earlier than that, besides those two it was when Minny fumbled with the lead against CHI in the 3rd week in the 4th quarter this year). But, to me, I just can't give him too many props for basically stumbling through two postseason games and having lady luck get him to the Conference game.
Rex Grossman I will not even get into. At least the Bears have a glamorized defense and special teams so that people don't think they got there on their pivot's shoulders.
