I know The_Return (I believe...) had a few of these paired up in a prior thread, but I can't seem to find it. What I was wondering was... what do you guys think are some good movies to pair up... ie-> watch back to back? To maximize the effect of both. Keep in mind while placing, which is the stronger film; If in a franchise, the sequential order; and the like.

Nice list. I thinki would put Mimc first though, i think the relic leaves you with a better sense of satisfaction. Just my opinion though.

Wow, newb tailored one to my specific tastes..I feel so honored.

I would have to remember to wear my purple sash and black clothes with my white nikes, to get in the mood. For my snack: Vodka and some chocolate pudding. With Phenobarbatol.

is gryphon a thai monster flick ?

No, as it says on the banner, it's a Sci-Fi original movie. You get them every once in a while. They take a script, and beat their non-existent budget over it's head.

Brothers of the Head & Freaks

Elvis, you seen Brothers of the Head yet? You'd dig the music - way authentic proto-punk.

Evil Dead - Re-Animator

Fall of the House of Usher - Pit and the Pendulum (Or subsitute any of the Corman/Price/Poe flicks, really)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Orig.) - House of 1000 Corpses

Silence of the Lambs - Se7en

Theatre of Blood - Abominable Dr. Phibes

Deathwatch - The Bunker (Might want a Redbull or something before that pairing though...both are really good flicks, but brutally slow paced)

Nightbreed - Lord of Illusions (As much as I love these movies, the obvious thematic follow up to this pair would be Brokeback Mountain)

Alien - Event Horizon

Trilogy of Terror - Creepshow

The Fly (1986) - The Thing (1982)

Dog Soldiers - Aliens

Cat People (1942) - The Body Snatcher (1945)

I could go on for hours....

These are actual double features I've seen in theatres, and the entertainment value of each was extremely high:

The Adventures of Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) - Robin & Marian

Casablanca - Play It Again Sam

The Casablanca/Sam pairing is particularly effective as Play It Again Sam opens with Woody Allen watching Casablance in a theatre, and as the end of the film rolls past, Woody's mouth slowly drops down in awe in reaction to the amazing film before him. It's a superb example of art imitating life as you realize YOU the viewer just did the same thing as you watched the end of Casablanca....

Two very different movies, but enough paralells to make for an interesting double feature.
