an original slasher

Its been a very long time sense i have seen an original slasher. well a good original slasher. I think that wes cravens SCREAM was the last really good original slasher that i have seen in a long time. Now i know there are mos def a lot of original films around that i just cant think of right now but it seems to me that we are long over due for a new killer with new prey. there are an ass load of remakes an sequels that have come out in the past four to five years and i just dont know why people cant come up with new shit. truthfully dont you guys think that you could construct an original story from scratch?

I liked tamara. If I watch a movie all the way through it was good in my opinion. It had a couple things that I wanted to see in movies, but didn't even know it yet.

vomitting blood
broadcasted self mutilation
girl chewing off her own fingers
someone got hit with an axe in the chest










I think the broadcasted self mutilation/suicide scene is one of favorites of a horror movie. Now all go watch it and tell me about how bad it was. ;)
